This ought to help you not need to do that.

What sucks is that my side of the garage doesn't have an outlet, and I know you're not supposed to use extension cables with jumpers/tenders. =(

Of course it's ideal to plug any appliance directly into an outlet, but I use an extension cable with my tender for charging all my vehicles, and it has never presented a problem. My nearest external power outlet is outside of my garage about 15 feet away from the nearest vehicle, so an extension is necessary. Buy a good quality cable and you shouldn't have anything to worry about. If your car's going to sit more than a week and you have concerns about the battery running down, plug it in for a night and it should be full charged again.

What would be a quality cord? It should stop raining soon, so I'll be able to drive the FRS to work on Sundays. Haha

Say an indoor/outdoor light duty cable you buy at Home Depot, and not a dirt cheap one you pick up while you're looking for a TV at Walmart.

http://www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-50-ft...-543/100650559

This is plenty, and for not a lot of money.

If it's not frayed or damaged in some way, go ahead and use it. If it's not going to be exposed to the elements like mine is you really have nothing to be concerned about.

Nope, no kinks, openings, fraying of any kind, and will be in the garage only. I'll be ordering a tender

I found that police officers don't like it when you accidentally run a red light
