A lot of the costs will be in what you want the shop to do in the wheel wells. Just cutting the metal and covering it with the flares will cost a lot less than a shop fabricating wheel wells and correctly finishing the part/Rust prevention.

Not sure if people think about things like wheels, tires and suspension when asking for these costs.

Installation is the simple part. Buy some tools, put aside a weekend (or two, depending on how many adult beverages you want to have during) and knock it off yourself, if you're adventurous.

Then think about how much custom wheels are going to cost. Then how much rubber is going to cost for your 10-13" wide wheels, then think about how you need to go lower and think about how much you can cheap out on coils because your wheels just cost you 5-7k. Then remember you need to paint still, so you'll probably just decide to run them unpainted, because you'll never get a good paint match done, unless you respray or wrap your entire car.

And you will also need some suspension stuff, can't have it with 4x4 stance. You also don't want cheap out here if its a DD as it will make it ride like crap if you buy some BC's just to lower it. Budget 3-4 grand for all the suspension parts you will need.
I have a separate budget for the suspension and wheels it's not a problem haha

This guy just asked for a typical price for paint and install, probably hoping people who have the RB kit installed could chime in.

I don't see why everybody keeps going off topic on the suspension and wheels he needs. That's a given and he should know that. If he wanted to know supporting mods he would have asked.

Then he probably should have chimed in on the 6000 other rocket bunny threads. How is it off topic to be talking about rocket bunny related items in a rocket bunny themed thread?

Off topic: I'd suggest going to an FR-S/BRZ meet-up and trying to find a "Rocket Bunnied" '86 to look at/sit in/drive. You may find that the car isn't as good when you have super wide wheels/tires on it without any additional power to move it around. I kind of like the way RB's look (I've seen one well done on the road here in Florida), however I'd rather put that kind of money into my dream Cayman fund. But back on topic: you'd really have to go to your local automotive shops and find out. We can arbitrarily throw out some numbers, but they are pretty useless.
