I have 6k/6k on Tein Flex A and the ride quality is glorious. My friend has 12k/12k on his Tein 2-ways and it's more than acceptable, perfectly good ride. I had 4.5k/4.5k with stock PP struts and the ride quality was horrendous. Point being, shocks matter more

I also have Flex As but I find them just okay. What damper settings do you use? At recommended 8 (out of 16) clicks from full hard they were too stiff for my roads and I finally settled around 10 clicks from full hard. It's a compromise but not even super comfortable and not responsive enough either at high speed.

This is exactly my experience with them.

I've found lower-end to middle-range single-adjustables often kinda lacking. Despite adjustability, my old Tein SS coilovers on my FD were always way too harsh in high-speed damping. Replaced them with Ohlins Road & Track which were a *massive* improvement, but weirdly enough I found them to blow off a bit *too* much and would have liked to dial *in* some high- (or maybe mid-)-speed compression damping (which was pretty much unaffected by the single adjuster).
Really happy with the Bilstein B8 I got for the BRZ. Very good balance of high- and low-speed rebound and compression damping.
I think at the low/midrange of adjustables they might leave off a bit of development and/or have looser tolerances knowing that if customer thinks they're too stiff or too soft, they can at least twiddle a knob and make some kind of difference. But that doesn't mean they can get anywhere near ideal overall damping for their setup...

One reason I went with the non-adjustable Bilsteins was due to how good the "normal" factory-replacement KYBs we got for wife's Mazda3 were when its struts/shocks were all blown, and how impressed I was with the balance between high-/low- and rebound/compression damping. I thought they were better dialed-in than my adjustable Ohlins Road&Track dampers on the FD! That put it in my mind that I might rather have known-good non-adjustable performance-oriented dampers than even "good" midrange single-adjustables.

I have the CSG Tein Flex A. I don't know if the valving is different, but I use 9/12 for cruising around, and 8/8 for more uneven mountain roads, and 5/5 for track and smooth mountain roads

I haven't tried different settings front and rear. Will try messing it it. I also don't know if valving is different but I do know the adjustment range is different on CSG spec.

For an everyday sporty setup you can't go wrong with RCE Yellows paired with Bilstein B6 dampers. If I didn't autocross and do track day stuff, I'd go that route myself.

I has the RCE yellows on stock suspension and was happy with them. There's no need to run coils on the street IMO unless you want to lower more.

Finished with coilovers with 5k springs. Car is a little too flat for my tastes, perhaps 4-4.5k would be better...

It'll feel like that at first but give it some time before making a change.

Anything over ~6k is into the 2hz+ natural frequency range, which is where you should have aero on your car. So under 6k is good imo.

I should have told you my opinion from the beginning, don't choose coilovers for road use, a good road setup is much better imho!

6 front, 8 rear, yeah, that's what I get for 2 hz.

IMO that's a great place to be for a street/track car without aero. As you add significant aero downforce you'll begin to want/need to go stiffer from there....
