195Ω just seems odd... it's about double what I would spec for this LED (white) to have acceptable operation from 10-14.3v (note, this LED is designed for use with a reflector, part of why I chose it... plus the case design and dimensions are correct if I'm remembering right).

I think this green version may be right... but...
Some sort of modulation of the input signal allows for an inexpensive robust way to electronically control the input current.

Can't wait to see how shitty my steering inputs are once auto-x starts up again. Dashcam was ok for simple review footage, but now I can see what I'm doing wrong (slaloms still biggest issue).

It's ok. You're on the right track. Replace that fuse and measure the forward current.

Then, because I missed seeing that the LEDs are in series, reinstall the one you pulled and measure the DC voltage across these points.

Divide that value by 3 and you'll have the approximate forward bias voltage.

You'll have to take that measurement in the actual headlight. It's not meant to be driven by 12 VDC.

...or you can just take a stab at the replacement LEDs. I don't recommend it but who knows, you might get lucky.

Well, installing the light isn't an option right now due to the cold and how the headlights in the Z are set up so checking it plugged in can't happen

I don't see a problem here.
Your new YouTube fame should be able to cover the booze.
