The base tires are extremely loud to me. After my first 60 miles from the dealer I modified my car and placed 255 PS4S. Huge night and day change in noise levels.. Despite the tires being significantly wider the noise went down.

By going wider you also allow for the suspension to sit a tiny bit softer, which will help decrease road noise.

It’s tire noise the issue (with stock primacy). Even with after market top hats (metal on metal) there’s really no suspension noise.

As much as I hate to say it, I thought the roadnoise complaints were spoiled whiners just use to higher end cars. I had not taken it out on the highway 'till last week. Wow! It's loud.
I had already planned on sound dampening/deadening in the spring when I run speaker and amp wiring. But yup, it's loud, road noise, that is. I can live with it if I get too lazy to do the work. It wouldn't have kept me from buying or keeping the car. I don't listen to much music anymore anyway. And the road noise makes things seem exhilarating, adds adrenaline. Off highway, don't notice noise. When I go driving for fun, I mostly avoid highways anyway; I like backroads. |

the car could really benefit from a longer 6th gear. 3400rpm to cruise at 80mph makes no sense. if they could drop it down to 2k it would be more liveable. i think the auto is around 2500 rpm or something at those speeds... but yeah.. auto.

Agree 100 percent. Although it still kicks the rear end out on command despite the huge increase in grip. This chassis is amazing along with the steering!

I moved the extension ladders to the passenger side so they can deal with it. Now I can hear my phone ring!

Oh I don't mind the noise at all. The drive is a blast! There is a highway loop around my city that's a lil over a 100 miles. Other cars will show up on my tail. And we play leap frog following and passing each other without getting into trouble speeds. It's really fun.

It’s not too bad in my opinion. I have noticed I just drive slower in the BRZ which honestly is a good thing. I used to do 80-85 in my Supra and now I usually do 70-75 on the freeway. Smaller ticket!

Up until now I thought most of the complaint on tire noise was those who had the PS4's. I was going to go for primacies for that reason, but I guess those have the same issue? I wonder if one or the other is worse.

Some tires are quieter than others, but the car is noiser at highway speeds in general.
