i've never seen a battery terminal with an angled bolt design. it's always perpendicular to the battery posts. looks someone put their back into it.

That's interesting, my '15 FR-S has the same design as @soundman98's '14 BRZ.....except for all the dirt.

All of these cars came out of the same factory and all of these twins in this thread are in the North American market. I wonder why there is a difference.

The difference is that some are pre 17 and some are post. There were far more changes made in 17 than some realize.

Yeah, I realize there was a change in 2017, but OP's car is a '14 according to the information under his avatar.

Well either the OP is very wrong about the year, the car has been radically updated or he is showing us pictures of another car but that is not a 2014 dash or battery hookup.

When he posted the picture of the gauges I thought he had just typoed the year in his description but he states 2014 in his response to Hum so the mystery of the difference (never was a mystery to me) may be solved but why he thinks it is a 14 remains on the table.

I don't know. Maybe @TeaFee will eventually come back and explain.

Yep. If it was posted in the second gen threads some wingnut would try to tell us it was for heat dissipation or aero improvements in some weird manner.

Yes this OP is very wrong.
Wires got crossed in my brain and I got my '17 confused with my '14 Kawasaki.

It happens. At least it was the easiest of the explanations.
