Did a few runs at launching the car and it went well! Lol at the auto comments, some people forget the manual is still a "150hp" car. Like I've said, at the end of the day its still a slow ass car (but I love it)!!

How would they know I'm launching the car hard? Also, don't they advertise this car as trackable car (room for four tires)?

I used to think like you till my legs didn't work anymore......sometimes there is a reason for a certain choice and I don't want to judge someone else....I keep opinions like that to myself.

Don't even dare say you track your car, if something breaks they'll blame you.

Oh, and there was a very informative thread AT vs. MT and the conclusion was the AT was actually faster at the track unless you have a lot of experience with the clutch. So that being said I don't think the lack in power is that significant. I know I had plenty of fun with mine in the twisties, I just hated driving around town with it in D.

Noob Questions regarding AT launch.

I'm usually in manual mode unless I'm stuck in traffic (happens often in NYC). Can you point me to that thread? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The auto can be launched at the flash stall which may be 2500. Because you are launching from a lower rpm where the car may be out of the power band it will be slow regardless. A easy way to find out if the brake torquing helps is to go to a drag strip, launch both ways and compare 60' times.
I suspect the difference will be marginal. You may be better off not doing brake torquing at all and save the heat buildup in the trans. |
