agree 100% the guy who owned my brothers car was an aircraft mechanic, and maintained the car like it was a plane. I for one downloaded acar pro when I got my brz. I had had the free version before, but went pro because it offers many in depth stats and customizations. I have a record of every drop of gas to ever go into my car as a result

HA! What will really blow your mind is that I also had a G35 coupe and currently still own an IS250!

There's still an IS350AWD in the house too, but I don't drive it nearly as often anymore since getting the Mustang.

I wanted to like the 370Z, I test drove it thoroughly. But the awful and needlessly harsh ride, the unreal road noise, and god-awful visabillity (I'm only 6'1") were the nails in the coffin. It was one of the most unpleasant cars I've ever driven. Not to mention the numerous cheap orange LCD displays that Nissan is famous for and should have stayed out of the 370.

Really? The interior sucks? In 06 it did, and the interior was one of the reasons I ended up buying a G35 Coupe back then. The G35 didn't have a much better interior design wise, but the quality was much higher, plus you can aim the driver's side A/C vents to cool your nuts. In 2010 Ford changed a lot of things and used much better quality materials as well. In 2011, the 2010 Track Pack suspension became the standard suspension on a base GT. Even today, it's probably one of the best bang for the buck cars you can get. A friend of mine got his 2012 Brembo GT with 3.73 rear (base car) for 27,800 out the door, and that was in December of 2011. As far as the interior differences between 06 and 2010, night and day. You keep bashing the car and yet you haven't even sat in one. And as far as reliability, I have 100+ 1/4 mile passes in mine, 2 Auto-X events, and 4 HPDEs and other then tires, brake pads, and fluid changes, the car has handled everything like a champ. Mine was an early 2011 build and I had a defective syncro, and when I brought it in, Ford replaced my whole trans even with all the mods on the car.

^That actually explains a lot.

I hate my Mustang too. If you decide to get an amazing 11 year old E39, throw your Recaros my way. I'll hate them for you.
Are you saying the interior is good? I'm confused because the pics you posted show crappy interior. I checked out a 2013 GT and the interior was a big factor why I went another route.

The 2015 looks promising though!

I felt that if I only based my decision off of test drives of the 370z and the FRS I'd probably go with the 370z. It did not feel rough to me and had nice sound and the car pulled hard. Yes there was an atrocious blind spot in the rear 3/4 area but I had little other complaints of it on the street during my limited drive. Street handling felt fine to me.

The FRS was well balanced but did not move me as I thought it would. I drove it on local road and a short stretch on the highway. Took a few corners fast and accelerated onto the highway and then back to local. I did not get out of it feeling anything special about its handling and it felt slow on acceleration.

At that time I drove a bolt-on E36 M3 as my primary daily driver.

Anyhow I did not end up with either car. Just my 2 cents on how I felt between the two.

Really? What's crappy about it? Let's compare the two.

Well for one, I'm not a fan of the FR-S interior either(especially with that horrid radio). But I also never said that either of the twins had better interior. The interior on the mustang just looks too old though to me and the seats are trash unless you drop the extra dough for the recaro's. My BRZ has some of the best seats out of the cars I have owned. It's really going to come down to preference but to me the mustang is just too dated.

I was going to test drive the mustang yesterday... sat in one and first thing I did was set my seat to where I could fully depress the clutch pedal... my shins and knees still rub the underside of the hard plastic dash... doors are still as shit as ever... only improvement to the interior was the soft material used on the top of the dash... the rest was meh... and the base leather seats are still the same shit as the 06... no support at all

So did you actually drive it, or are you still judging cars solely by how the interior is?

the article makes sense. the 370z is a powerful 2 seater, but hast the majority of its weight up front, making it handle very brutishly. the frs on the other hand has 100 ponies less, but weight is lighter and distribution is better balanced. Comes down to what you really want, control and balance, or power. For 10k less i'll take the fr-s every time.

It's a test drive... suck it up for a few minutes. Besides, didn't you say you had a mustang before? It didn't seem like a problem then, unless you've tacked on a lot of weight.
