Transmission won't engage any gears.. Diff/Axle is done.
Having issues, hopefully someone with more knowledge than me can comment. Was in 2nd gear, drug it out to like 5500rpm. Shifted to 3rd and as I engaged 3rd I lost all my gears. I can let the clutch pedal out in any gear and it won't grab, doesn't sound like slipping at all. Had myself towed back to my house by someone and in neutral, as I was being drug, I heard a metal grinding noise.
I don't know if it's the clutch or pressure plate or the trans all together or what is it, where would I start to try and diagnose this?

Blew your clutch and/or TOB. Little to no doubt. Just pick up new ones and slap them in there.

None of the gears? Not even fifth? Fifth gear couples the input shaft directly to the output. If that doesn't hook up it's either the clutch, or your diff.

Generally speaking, if the pressure plate is bad, your clutch won't fully disengage. If you can shift into gear with the car off, but not with the car on - the pressure plate is likely toast.
This doesn't sound like that. Have you checked for leaks with the slave cylinder? If I understand your problem correctly - the clutch is not engaging, so the car never goes into gear? Does the clutch pedal have a normal amount of resistance? Can you press the pedal and have a buddy see if anything's leaking under the hood? There's also a possibility of the center of the clutch failing, which could result in this sort of behavior. The linkages and throwout bearing could also do this, but it would have to be something kind of bizarre on a car this new. |

Clutch is toast. My sister's 2009 Si had the same exact problem. Throw out bearing and one of the springs on the clutch broke out.

So it could be the diff or axle.

Wiggle the axle, if it clunks around, then the CV joint in th axle is toast. A replacement OEM axle $400. Used ones can be found all day on eBay for $100-$175.

Yes. so it engages the clutch but won't spin the wheels. So it's either the diff or axles. Gotta check them in the morning. Too dark now.

See if it will buff out lst. (Stock answer)
If not, on a 2016, surely a warranty claim...Talk with your service writer very nicely. If they say no, gradually get more insistent. Even if it was your fault, still a warranty claim...unless of course you've done major mods to the power train already. Oh, I see now, looking at your posts....seems you've added something under the hood of the car....well, still worth a try for warranty. Edit: Sorry this happened, but see here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showt...09#post2596609 And by morning you'll figure out what's the weakest link.
