Do you have a single exit exhaust?

I did the floor, sides and some of the fender wells (what I could reach) of the trunk. It was my first time doing it, so I doubt I did it correctly, but hey it worked out. I was reading that 5-6 db drop is what other people have experienced.

I put all 5 poly exhaust hangers on when I put my CSG MXP on last year. Liked how poly bushings don't rot or move around like rubber mounts was my thinking at the time. I still ended up with 1/2" ring clamps to stop the exhaust tail pipes from shifting too much in the back hangers. Car has stock exhaust system to the CSG MXP cat back. Engine has an HKS supercharger. Exhaust is louder than stock, but not terrible. But I do have more cabin noise than I used to.

Anyone do something similar with just the two rear hangers with polys elsewhere? Just curious, but think that's where I'm starting. Worth a try for 52 dollar order from Nengun for all five. I'll start with just the back two.

I'm pretty sure my Torque Solutions motor mounts will still dominate. Especially at parking lot speeds. Wish I could find a softer bushing for those, but that's a crossover thread. Actually, I may not notice at all due to the motor mounts.

Feedback too good and fix too cheap not to give a shot. I had the hangers and exhaust on before the SC and motor mounts. Cab was louder, so going to try it out to see if I get anything back.

I have the STi axleback with the recommended two rear hanger upgrade and I like it just the way it is. It's quiet to 2600 RPM, low rumble 2800-3400, and over 5000 it sings.

Just got these picked up from USPS and installed today. Quite a bit quieter in regards to cabin noise versus my poly mounts. Much better at lower RPM and transfers a lot less noise into the cab. My Torque Solution motor mounts still rule the roost there.

I know they have those special pliers to make removal easier, especially poly hangers. These are tough by hand, have to grease them. But I found a tierod pickle fork to work great. These new ones went on by hand easily. Way more movement with these than the poly mounts too. From a solid feel to an inch or so of movement yanking exhaust back and forth.

I replaced all five mounts for reference. Didn't try the first two then revisit, just changed them all while I was under there.

Coming back to this - I was hearing clunks when going fast over bumps and holes, which I initially thought it was due to my end links. Turns out the overpipe was knocking about on the subframe, to the point of denting the heatshields. Then I realized I started hearing them right after I swapped from the stock hangers to the STI ones...

Will change the front 3 hangers back to the originals and report back.

I think you should check your engine supports, as the overpipe is rigidly connected to engine, not to the catback.

I have the STI hangers installed in all 5 locations, I'm assuming the 3 (which are towards the front of the car) have additional play on them as some have reported here previously, and that allowed slack is causing the contact of the overpipe to subframe.

The engine mounts as well are likely the culprit too, but swapping hangers is a far cheaper option for now.

edit: just caught that post that you mentioned the STI ones are stiffer than the stock ones?
