Well, looks to me like @Tcoat was on to something with the firmware version maybe being incorrect. I wonder if there's any way to flash a different version yourself?

Found this: https://subaru-na.naviextras.com/sho...devicessupport

Now it only shows Nav updates on what is accessible without creating an account. There may be more options available if you do set up a login. If nothing else it is a good place to start.

Not rushing you or anything, just trying to help a fellow twin owner out, but if you were to take these two harnesses indicated in the pictures here,

which can both be found on Metra's website,

and if you were to solder them together matching the pin positions on each molex plug to make an extension harness, you won't have to cut any of your cars' wires for that test that I wrote up for you about a week ago in post #61 of this thread:

https://www.ft86club.com/forums/show...07#post3429607

All you would have to do is not connect the blue wires together in the extension harness, and would have to cut and/or de-pin the blue jumper wires out of that harness within.

I'm thinking of ordering the two harnesses and making this test harness myself. If you'd like to have it when I'm done with it, I'll send it to you, free of charge and I'll pay the shipping.

I'd be up to a solution that doesn't show evidence of tampering. It isn't maintaining the warranty on the HU it self that concerns me since if caused the issue I wouldn't claim it anyway. It is giving them an excuse to not cover something else. Don't think my dealer would give me any grief no matter what I did but I would hate to be away from home and have to get work done just to be told no.

I've just ordered the harnesses. I'll put it together and test it in my system first to make sure it works and let you know. There should be no evidence of tampering for you to be concerned with. I'll even take pictures and show you exactly what fuse to install in the fuse block and which pin to grab power off of at the amp in order to energize it. This will make the job easy and take even less time that what I described in that thread.

Now sure how this relates to my issue, LOL!

As for the firmware update, I have already downloaded and installed the Subaru toolbox, but all I could do with it, was to order an update for the map and the options to update the firmware was grayed out.

Anyone else been able to use the toolbox software to update their firmware?
