AOS or catch can for heavy track use
My 2013 has 80k on the Odo. I am the 4th owner and very soon it's going to become a weekend and track toy only. I have the car pretty well setup. Last oil report looked good from Blackstone but really this is the last major thing I can think of to do for the car now besides maintenance and consumables. Just looking for opinions.

I haven’t found a need. Both times Ive removed the manifold there is very little oil film on anything and the valves are clean as can be due to port injectors.

Being NA with PFI I'd say it's not really needed. These cars don't really die from detonation NA, it's usually due to oiling issues if anything. Up to you, but I would say save the money and weight.

I have raced without them, and with them. I currently have both. I have a Racer X catch can installed for my PCV, and I have a Cusco AOS on my crankcase vent.
Unlike others, I do get oil in mine. Not a lot, and I'm OK with the weight. The talk about LSPI always concerned me, even though it's less likely in the twins. My car is NA, I usually autocross it, but I've done a few track days. I use 0w-20 oil all the time, which is another point to consider. I run a full season of events with a single oil change (about 400 miles), and get a Blackstone analysis, and there are no issues. Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk |
