Interior trim falling apart
Hey guys,
I apologize if this was mentioned before, I tried searching all over the forums for it but I couldn't find anything. If there's a thread out there and someone could link me that would be awesome. On to the problem. My interior pillars are loosening over time and from the drivers seat I can see that the airbag exposed. It's most likely due to the heat warping the pillars. I have had the dealer replace the trim already but they started falling apart again overtime. Is there any solution to this or do I have to purchase a sun shade? I currently have tint on all my windows but I guess it's not that effective. Thanks for taking the time to read this. P.S. I don't know if it matters or not but I live in Anaheim, California. I am curious how people from Arizona or Nevada deal with this. |

Id place my bets on the clip detached from the pillar itself. I recommend pulling it out, finding the single clip that holds that whole pillar and securely refastening it to the pillar.
Highly doubt the pillar warped |

I have the same issue with my driver-side A-pillar. How do I get the trim reattached? Just smack it back in place and hope it catches a clip?

I think I start by pushing it up against the windshield glass at the top and then the bottom and finish by catching the clip at the inner top. Yep, make sure the clip is still there and not broken. humfrz |

Thanks for the replies! The dealership is actually ordering a new pillar for me because it actually did end up warping.
Time to invest in a windshield shade hahah |

Thinner plastic to reduce weight, less heat resistance and more chances of bending/cracking. The interior pieces in my GS-R felt almost 2x as thick as the 86s.
