I bought the tC as practical transition car after the car before it got totaled by an inattentive driver (4'10" woman driving a Ford Excursion yapping on her cell phone). The original goal was to save some money to buy something I really wanted to auto-x/track but still haven't found it, and I'm not about to buy another transitional car or buy something I can't use for my business.
Besides, I had partial sponsorships with H&R, Falken, and Wilwood, so my tC isn't as boring as most.

MSRP of 25 means 28OTD, i'm really looking at 25OTD ideally so the 22.5k MSRP is the sweetspot!
and i really dont think that affordability is the reason some of us are upset about pricing details not being available yet, its more about value, we all have some kinda preset number at which the 86 isnt "worth my money" any more... i think used c6 corvette territory is where I draw the line  |

Go to truecar.com and put in any subaru model. Most of them sell for 1-2k below msrp. If the rumors about the limited quantities for the first year are true, that definitely won't be the case, but once it is readily available it should be easy to get one around invoice pricing (1-2k below msrp).

Granted that's without driving them, but it's not going to be my only car so I could get plenty of less practical cars that are a couple of years old in that pricerange, like an S2KCR.

Don't forget all the fees you have to pay; dmv, taxes and theres one more that im forgetting. These have to be paid regardless of what new car you're buying.

It is kinda bad that we don't have any solid price figures. I find myself calling up most dealerships knowing more about the car than the dealers. Not sure why they are holding out so long when a price could easily solidify some sales. Hang in there guys. :happy0180:

Yeah if anything, its October 2009 all over again but with Nissan. Oh btw, Toyota and Subaru had done lots of work already by that time. Oh look its 2012 and we only have pictures and reviews but no price or it being available yet FRS/BRZ. IMHO, like you said, long wait if Nissan does anything at all

Money for nothing
Subaru's (& Toyota's) job is to eek out as much money from the customer as possible, so long as they can sell each 86 they make. I'm sure that during the first year there are enough people willing to buy at $26-28k. The question is can they sustain demand at that price for the lifetime of the vehicle generation?
If you are unwilling to pay 1-2k more than you hoped, then you didn't want this car as bad as the guy down the street who was. Other automakers will be watching. Last edited by C4RBON; 02-15-2012 at 01:04 AM. Reason: speling misteak |

What's to move on from? You can't buy a product without a price. People are just anxious to see the final details. Once the announcements come, cars will be hitting the streets in short order. It's not that long to wait. Remember, most people still have no idea about this car. Including dealers!

I have only been waiting 8 months which isn't nearly as long as some of you guys. I figure solid information will come out within the next month. And I dunno, it's kind of like the agony of Christmas when I was a child. You know it's coming closer. You have no choice but to wait so just wait. It'll be worth it in the end.
The thing that bothers me the most is that even if the car is released in May or June, based on availability it might be much longer than that before I can get it. And to be honest if I have to wait months to drive one I will probably just get next MY since I don't want to buy this car in the fall. If I can't get it by the middle of summer I'll just suck it up and wait. |
