PDR On Roof

Random chunk of 18 wheeler tire about the size of an iPhone was launched straight up in the air while I was driving on the freeway, Somehow landed directy my roof, not a big dent or anything looks just like a hail stone, I know pdr can fix it no problem just wondering how the dent is accessed.. Anybody have any experience with this??

With dents on the roof, they can massage it out from below by removing the headliner or they can do a glue pull - they literally put this goo on the tip of the tool and pull the dent out (think of a toilet plunger).

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but can't the PDR guy just pull out the dome light assembly and work from that opening?...

Depends on the location of the dent. they need to be able to get tools in there and push the dent out from behind.

They can glue pull it out with no access to the inside, no problem.

Had a guy around to fix a dent in the door of my Versa, same issue, couldn't access from the inside so pulled out using the glue...

Was only $145 to fix the dent and it was a much worse dent than what you are describing.

It's why they still have their job and why we hire them.

I saw a guy on You Tube carefully heat a dent in a quarter panel that had NO crease with a heat gun , then he used a can of air, like the kind you clean computers with. He sprayed it for 15 maybe 20 seconds and as is dried off you hear this loud Plink and the dent was gone.

It takes specialized equipment and quite a bit of training and practice to do that job properly.... best leave it to the professionals.
