This way you can continuously develop your tunes as Phantom ESC upgrades are released (dual dump packs, aux charger, TQ300, flexfuel(?) etc) and not just rely whatever hardware is deployed in your area. The kit costs so much less than every other F.I. option. Your investment would also send a strong message of platform support and not just a one-off tune for whatever reason. Vishnu tuning and @shiv@vishnu has offered full spectrum support for the platform. I've really appreciated that commitment of resources from them, and tuners like @Bu-Tang and Bob @Drift-Office have done. It would be great to have an ECUTek tuner offer full support in the way the BRZedit and OpenFlash tuners have. Those tuners get my support because they've done what early adopters like us in this thread have done and that is invested in the project.

As much as I wish I had the know how...... I'm not a tuner :p

I hear a clear, distinct rasp during the 3.5-4k rpm range. Not sure if it was always there, but became more distinct after I removed the sound generator or because of the new tune or esc setup.

There is a massive phasing for the exhaust right at that speed under load, about 30 degrees in about 2000 RPM if I remember correctly. This causes resonance that you hear. Not an issue at all. This is for EL header tunes.

My only mods thus far are a drop in filter and OFT Stg 1 tune. I have the same rasp right at 4k rpm.

Still really appreciate your contributions to the project, and especially that they've been long term.

It's harmonics from the more aggressive VVT in the tune at that range. Has been discussed ad-naseum in another very long thread by tuners, engineers, mechanics and more. Was determined to likely be not abnormal or harmful, but some just won't let it go (in the thread). To each their own in regards to that, but it wouldn't hurt to read the full discussion.

Thanks, good info. I've heard others mentioned something similar with the OTS Stage 1 tune, but I haven't heard it myself when I was on it. Maybe the sound generator was overpowering the rasp when I still had it on, or the ESC OTS tune has an even larger change in VVT timing.

Hi Daemano, can you post a link to that "rasp" discussion?
I have the same rasp at 4k with stg 1 OFT and it just "sounds like" a hotter cam - I love the sound!
Gotta thank everyone for this incredible thread - all the time put into the ESC. I'm sold on it.

Here you go. Link was embedded so probably wasn't obvious in the previous post or from a mobile. Pages 9-11 are where conclusions begin to have consensus.

Indeed. I think the other poster was using Tapatalk which can sort of make things harder to decipher.
