yikes! The devastation they show on tv is mind -blowing.

Living 55 years less than 30 minutes from Santa Cruz, Monterey, Half moon bay, etc. and driving hwy 1 on a regular basis, you take thing for granted. Never thought I would miss the coastal mountains and Pacific ocean as much as I do.

I looked on maps where you are. I was wondering if you guys got any of the hurricane. Glad you got out of the path.

If you mean at home base, we're just west of Atlanta and was supposed to get a lot of what ended up in NC. Here we got a good bit of rain and some minor flooding but nothing as bad as FL or NC.

That’s like, there is no such thing as pepperoni in Italy. We learned that when the wife ordered a pepperoni pizza in Bologna and got only peppers on her pizza. There is no such thing as pepperoni in Italy because it was invented in the US. If you say “pepperoni” to an Italian most will hear “peperoni,” which, without the extra “p,” refers to bell peppers. Real Italian food severed in Italy is so much better than what we usually get in North America.

By that logic, they shouldn't offer anything made with tomatoes or bell peppers either.

Silly uppity europeans.

We had an awesome trip to Temecula. The work I had on the Exige really transformed the car. We had a drive yesterday morning in the LA hills and it was amazing. The new quick ratio steering and suspension is great, and the new shifter is like a gated shifter. So good.

Now non-car things about the trip:

Temecula is cool. The downtown is fun. Oceanside was a disappointment. Carlsbad was a bit better. Not used to paying $12 for a tiny margarita. Got some great sushi. Fun.

Pictures to come.

Oh yea, my son's F350 Super Duty Ford could go as fast as you wanted over any pass with the trailer. Bummer is I only got about 12.7 mpg average for the trip.

Here we are on the canyon run Saturday. I'm the 4th one up on the right, two up from the Ford GT.

Edit: notice the yellow Emira. And everyone is gathered by the McLaren.

Some highlights from some of the work I had done.

Door refresh (Lotus love to vibrate apart),

New lights,

New shifter and cables,

Complete suspension refresh (No more plastic a-arm bushings) including new steering arms and coilovers,

Addition of chassis brace, rear sway bar (car does not come with one), and links,

New 200° sandwich plate,

And look mom, no suspension.

Yes. Awesome car. I talked with the owner and he bought it used years ago with like 2500 miles for $120k. What an investment!

That's all fine and dandy, but, is it any easier to get out of?
