Exclamation Shifting issue?

First off, sorry if this isn't in the right area to post. This is my first post lol.

So yesterday, at 1700 miles on my BRZ, I started getting some weird feedback from my shifter when I shift to 2nd and 3rd. Going from 1st to 2nd, not all the time, but enough to make me worry, it seems that when I push the clutch pedal, the clutch doesn't completely disengage the gear I was on, and when I switch to second, I get a push like I'm switching as if I'm not pressing the clutch all the way. Same thing happens when I get from 2nd to 3rd gear, but it's a lot more feedback switching to 3rd.

This doesn't happen all the time. It started happening yesterday quite frequently, and only once today driving a total of about 50 miles.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

2015 BRZ Series.Blue.

Or bring it back to the dealership...that's what the warranty is for.

Don't do anything. Bring it to the dealer. This is becoming avery common issue and if people don't report it we will never get a recall. It's worn syncros.

Let your car warm up for 5-10 minutes and see if you still have the issue.

You shouldn't need to do that. It's worn syncros. A known issue. Take it in and get the transmission warranted.

hmm I have had my car for 9 months with a similar issue, I guess I should have them take a look. Should I mention the syncros or just the effects?

Syncros. They should put a new transmission in.

Awesome. Thanks for the replies guys. I did drive it for another 20 miles today and it did start doing that again after about 10-15 miles in on my second trip.

I'm going to get an arrangement at the dealer ASAP and try to drive it as little as possible.

EDIT: Going to the dealership at 8 AM on Thursday. Hopefully everything goes well.

Keep us updated! I was wondering the same thing, how would I know if I have worn synchros?

What would I need to notice and feel to know that its in fact the synchros?

I'm just wanting a heads up just in case since I have a Series.Blue also.

It will grind or crunch going into gear between shifts. Alot of people are having this happen. More people need to report it to their dealers so it turns into a warranty.

Update: So I just got back from the dealer. Arrived at 9 AM and just got home. 5 minutes ago (11:10). They couldn't duplicate the problem so sadly nothing was done. However, on my 35 minute drive home from the dealer, I didn't have any grinds. What's to stop it from happening in the future again anyways... They told me to come back when it's a constant issue.

EDIT: Just got back from the T-Mobile store around 10 minutes ago at 1:55 PM. Felt grinding again at only 3rd gear. Seems to happen when I push her a little bit aggressively. Will do more testings.

This does nothing for warming up the transmission or diff. It's also bad for your engine.
