Hey guys
I'm Is Always Angry (which is sometimes true) and I live in Boise, Idaho. I've been reading here for a long time and now that I'm looking to buy I figured I'd join. In the next few weeks I'll be picking myself up a used 2013-2014 twin, not sure which yet. Only modifications planned are seeing if the 2017 lights from the BRZ can be crammed on there and getting some snow tires to avoid wrecking my new baby... I currently drive an 01 Grand Am which was a great first car and all but now while I'm young I need to be a little dumb. |

Your passenger looks either really bored or scared to death.

Hey everyone, new to the page here! Just purchased my 2014 Hot Lava FR-S on Saturday 11/19. Not my first Scion, I also had a 2009 xB that I got rid of for hail damage. Immediately previous to this I was in a Nissan Xterra and owned both a first and second gen, and was the President of the GA Chapter for Nissan Off-Road SE. Looking forward to learning more about the car, and getting involved with the community. No major plans for the immediate future as far as mods go, still have warranties that I'd like to maintain.

I got my 2017 Toyota 86 a couple months ago. I was calling dealers left and right and bought the first one I found in the color I wanted. I absolutely love it and put about 40 miles on it every day.
I've been lurking since then but today I decided to post this here and say hi t everyone ![]() I'm in South Florida and I've seen more than a couple of BRZs and FR-Ss around. Maybe I've already seen a couple of you guys. ![]() |

What's up fam, I joined a few months ago and have been lurking for a while.
Bought my 2013 whiteout FRS back in September, love this car. Car had 26k mi on it and 1 year of CPO. It's super clean and think I got a very fair deal... Couldn't resist! ![]() I never paid much attention to these cars but my son pointed out that they have a back seat so... Family car. Now that I've "discovered" the 86 I'm totally taken with its design, driving experience, and the capability of the platform. I see it as the Japanese 911. Mods so far are pretty minimal while I enjoy in stock form: - K&N drop in - PnP 4300k HIDs - JPM alcantara gauge cover - 86 console plaque - CUSCO gas pedal cover for better heal/toe coverage Possible future plans: - JPM dash piece - Eventually better tires (though I'm among those who appreciate what they did putting Prius tires on it) - torque dip elimination - Some vinyl on the exterior (I know, sounds bad, you'll just have to trust me) - brake pads for some lapping at PIR Cheers, - RS Last edited by RallySport; 11-21-2016 at 11:59 PM. |

Late arrival
Hi, everyone, figured I'd better get my intro done. I picked up one of the last 2016 FR-Ses in my area earlier this month. Not 100% what I wanted, but not a decision I regret at all considering they are pretty much gone, and I was lucky to find what I did. I really don't dislike the Toyota 86 (like these should have been in the first place), but I prefer the original looks over the facelift, and little things like the boxer badge on the fenders, so I decided to get the Scion, and it'll eventually see a rebadging (btw, anyone with a line on Toyota center caps for the wheels would be dandy). It's a great little car, a very livable daily driver while still being quite fun when you want it to be, and at least I get a little bit better fuel economy as a silver lining for being saddled with an automatic.
Snow tires will be coming very soon since I live in New England, and since the picture below was taken I've added factory mud guards. Eventually I'll do the I-H-E thing and better looking wheels with good tires, but otherwise just plan to drive it and have some fun off the road once in a while. I've found some great info on this forum already, so I figured I should join up and contribute when and where able. ![]()

Hello, everyone! I just made it back here with my 2015 FR-S!
About a month ago, my dad sent me a link to a listing for this car. It was at a Toyota dealership in Bellevue, Nebraska, and it looked like a really good deal. At the time, I was also considering getting a 2017 BRZ, but decided against it as this would be easier for me to afford. A couple weeks later, after they came home to Iowa after visiting my grandpa in Colorado, I asked him to go check out the car, and he couldn't stop raving about it. He loved the car! At that point, I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger. This is the first car I've ever taken out a loan on, and Dad helped me out a lot by arranging the purchase with the dealer and the loan through my bank (a small one back home, not one of the huge national banks you can go to everywhere). A couple weeks ago, I took a couple weeks of leave and flew home to see my family, hang out with friends, and of course show off the FR-S. Over the past few days, I drove it all the way back to Las Vegas, and had zero problems with the car. So, yeah. It's like driving a go-kart, but without the wind noise and issues my old Miata had. I'm head-over-heels in love with this thing, and look forward to enjoying this car for many years! p.s.: This is my first time in years getting involved in any kind of forum, and I'm not the greatest storyteller, so apologies if this wall of text is tedious. |
