Hello Everyone!

I just picked up my 2013 10 Series last week! It's in not-so-great shape thanks to a young reckless previous owner, but after going through it thoroughly and settling on a good price, I bought it! Plus, I figured how likely is it I'm going to find a used FR-S which was babied/driven by a retiree to and from the grocery store.

I can't wait to work on it to bring it up to great shape and then see where it wants to go from there!

Everyone here has been awesome and I'm happy to be here!

Hi everyone! So my car makes this weird cricket noise?

Jokes aside, I've been out of the car game for a while. I used to be into Honda's (still am, just don't own one) and have owned 3 Si's and a JCW Cooper Clubman...which broke down three times over 5k miles .

Anyway, two weeks ago I traded my last Si for a 2014 Raven FR-S. It only had 4,000 miles on it and has the TRD exhaust which I'm a fan of. My car was reaching 200k and I was originally planning on trading for a new Si, but had been interested in the FR-S/BRZ since they came out and I decided to drive one to see what they were all about. About a minute into the drive I was sold. I also own a 1995 Miata and it reminded me of a much more refined version...with a roof. I've driven a lot of cars and I'd have to say the FR-S is probably one of the most fun. Looking forward to the years to come with this awesome car.

I'm trying to keep it stock for now, but have had a hard time doing so with most of my vehicles. I've swapped the badges already because I was never big on the Scion brand. Here are some pics from my phone.

Hey!

Had a question and didn't know which subforum to post it in _shrug_

Have any of you bought certified a pre-owned FRS?

Sometime later this year or early next I'm finally getting one and I was leaning toward getting one that way since it would be cheaper.

Is that a decent way to go with this car?

I see people on the "how much did you pay" thread buy pre-owned, some with a lot of miles, so it is a decent way to go. Just check the carfax to make sure it had no accidents and what kind of warranty you're getting. Buying CPO certainly makes sense financially to a lot of folks. Maybe PM some of the used buyers and ask if they've encountered any issues.

Moved to Nashville from Indianapolis. Have worked with Subaru for over 8 years and have owned 6 of them. 3 Wrx's, turbo forester, legacy and now my supercharged brz.

I bought mine pre-owned / certified, Bought with 24k on it from CarMax in Tulsa, OK. Its been awesome so far just had to have a taillight replaced but that was it, otherwise and of course I couldn't leave it alone so it has a healthy dose of aftermarket goodness, I am hoping maybe next year to be supercharged but haven't decided on the kit , right now its between Jackson Racing or HKS but am leaning toward Jackson, and if they will sell me just the rotrex supercharger and mounting parts it'll probably be the way I go

Bought mine pre owned as well with 6k miles. Since it already had the supercharger on it, it was not certified. It has eibach sportline springs on there and the shocks are already busted. Saving up for the Bilstein b8's. I have the hks v3 supercharger and it has been fantastic so far. The previous owner told me it was around 280whp. Going to get it dyno tuned and see if that's accurate/get a little more power out of it.

LMK what the dyno comes out at, we are building a frs at my shop with the v3 and using OFT to tune, going to also add injectors, but curios what you make and what kind of dyno, we are using a dyno dynamics loading dyno on the car, building it here makes me kinda jelly, but hey eventually I'll be there
