You can also mail order them from places like SubaruPartsOnline. They'll end up running you 20-50% less.

Well, there is only that one in Miami. The second nearest is 50 minutes away.
I really honestly dislike the one in Miami and all the others are not that good. I got my car from one 75 miles away. I'll try my luck online.

![]() ![]() This is one fo the reasons why I HATE this Miami Subaru dealer... Just called, lady "transferred" me to parts, wait on the phone for 10 minutes... when it seems someones gonna talk, boom call hang up. It has happened exactly like this 4 out of 6 times I've called. And of the two successful calls, one of them the guy was talking like he wanted to get me off the phone quick. I tell him I want touch up paint and he's like oh I need the VIN number. I said I HAVE the VIN number and he's like oh, I'm doing inventory right now so the computer is not available and I can't help you right now... Call back tomorrow... I mean WTF??? ![]()

Sorry to hear that. There are some dealers here like that also, Reeve's often doesn't even have a SALESPERSON on their floor. Bert Smith has improved but still focus on Porsche and BMW customers more. Mastro kicks ass though.

sorry guys dumb question. i saw that it is 75 90 right? is it best to use synthetic gear oils? what does the factory use? im a newb at trans and diff fluids...also should we stray away from friction modifiers due to the lsd? just wanna put the ideal fluid in both, i plan on swapping those fluids when i change my motor oil next.

Don't forget to do this in a well-ventilated area, preferably with air fresheners. My garage smelled horrible for at least a week when I did this to my wrx. Such a new car might not be as bad, but even new gear oil has some real funky stank to it.

I changed both my tranny and rear diff fluid this weekend. I used Motul for both.
The tranny fluid looked to be in good shape (I did not send for analysis) and there was little metal shavings on the drain plug. But the syncros are copper anyway (right) Shifting is a little better but there still is some second gear issues. The rear diff fluid was dark and the drain plug was disgusting and had TONS of shavings. I wish I changed that sooner. I have ~16k on the car and maybe 50 autox runs. |

Yes, the transmission drain plug is magnetic as well. It has a MUCH smaller magnet.

Stupid me forgot to put the crush washer back on the drain plug. No leaks yet but do you guys think it will be an issue?
