Remote won't unlock doors. Need help diagnosing problem.

Here are some details about the issue that the car is having:

- key can unlock the trunk wirelessly
-the lights do blink when pressing the unlock and lock buttons
-the drivers side unlocking mechanism stopped working first and a month later the passenger side followed suit.
-I can only lock/unlock the doors manually

Here is the solution that I came up with so far:
-Replace the door lock actuator on both doors

Does anyone have any other suggestions that I can try before spending the money on the replacement parts?

Thanks in advance!

try your other remote
make sure battrey is good in remotes

assume car battery is good ?

if still no good remove a battery terminal, press brake pedal, then reconnect battery
try remotes again.

Did you leave the spare key in the car somewhere?

Tried both remotes. I also disconnected and reconnected the battery terminal to reset the ECU.

The symptoms are the same. Thanks for the suggestions.

The spare key is not in the car or near it and the symptoms are the same. Thanks for your comment!

It could be that the batteries on both remotes are low.

As suggested above, I'd replace the remotes batteries, before I started tearing the car apart......

If you want to attempt to fix yourself, you need to start testing wires.

Batteries are working ok since they can unlock the trunk wirelessly without any issues. I also recently replaced the battery on one of the remotes. Thanks for the suggestion.

I know we are throwing out obvious things here but have you checked the fuses? I can not believe for one second that both actuators went for a shit.

When the key fob batteries start getting low, the dash Key Indicator will blink at you when you turn off the car.

I noticed it blinks at you whenever you release the parking break too. Basically whenever you start to drive. It'll blink orange for a few seconds (10-15?) and beep at you like 3 times.

I haven't checked the fuses yet. I'll do that when I get home from work. I'd like that to be the solution since it would be an easy fix. Thanks for your input!
