I am currently installing a short shifter and have come across a problem... I have the problem when installing the new shifter back in.

This is not my picture but the issue I came across. Well I managed to get it on using alot of force. Now my problem is I can't get it farther on to put the cotter pin back on(literally a hairs length) and I can't take the shifter back out.

Can I just forget about the cotter pin and be fine?

The force needed to have it come off would most likely be the same to break the cotter pin with the stock shifter.

I had to drill the inside of the bushing with a 3/8 bit to get it on properly. You don't want the shifter to come off the linkage while driving.

Shiftek claimed to have fixed the problem, but i guess not.

I didn't get an accurate measurement because of the rubber washer, but I got close to the 10mm opening that Shiftek mentioned... Perhaps they need a little bit bigger than 10mm?

No, 10mm is larger than 3/8. Maybe he got an old one?
