Best tune for my car

So currently i have a full exhaust (p&l headers with invidia back) trd cold air intake short throw shifter, and lgihtweight pulleys. I am running the oft "stage 2" tune but last night i ran another frs with the same exhaust with stock headers, same intake and stock pulleys and on the stage 1 tune and he pulled one car on me. So i think its my tune because it hasnt been running the same since the new update came out for the oft. I know that in theory i should be faster but i wasnt. Any suggestions?

Just speculating but perhaps it wasn't the car and a human variable was the difference?
I would suggest having you guys swap cars to test this theory.

Also, have you done any logging for knock or knock prevention?
If your timing is being pulled to prevent knock you will not be running at "full capacity" and are likely missing that extra umph from the different stages.

But honestly one run is not really that great of a comparison you should do more to draw a final conclusion.

Hope this helps!

If your car hasn't been running as well on the new (I am assuming V2) tunes you should take some logs to see what is going on. Are you running the 91 or 93 rom? What are your fuel trims like? Because you are running an intake you may do well to scale your MAF or if youu are running the 93 rom you maybe knocking. There is a great thread on MAF scaling floating around, search it and have a read.

It didn't even let me chose between 91/93 tune and it's not the driver it's the tune, or it could have been heat soaked

How did you update to v2.0 tunes? If you manually select which tune you want to run from the zip file full of tunes you have to choose between 91 or 93 octane because they're in different files.

If you want to rule out the tune, flash to the stage 1 tune that your friend has and try again.

If I were you, I would pull some logs (both driving around at part throttle, and some WOT pulls right to redline) to see what's happening.

Make sure you're logging:

RPM
Throttle
AFR
AFR Commanded
LTFT
STFT
KC learned
FLKC
Knock correction
Advanced multiplier

To answer your original question, the best tune for any car is a custom tune made specifically for your car. Canned/OTS tunes will never be as good because they have to cover a wider range of vehicles.

Kindly help me explain to Aaron a.k.a. @Scavenger that in order to use an oft for a different car you need to unmarry it first. I was asking for a refund and i'll be shipping his married oft because I couldnt use it. And he keeps on telling me that I could use it even without unmarrying it from his car. This is what he told me. Now he isnt answering my calls and rejected my refund request.

Hey @scavenger , In order for him to use your oft, you have to take off your tune to unmarry it, if you were hoping to just use the tune that you're using but still sell the oft, you're crazy or a thief....

He keeps on telling me that I could use it. His stock tune is still registered in the oft and obviously he still uses his stage 2 tune. I already called vishnu and they told me right away that I should return it. I also tried erasing the data using openflash manager and it says that stock tune must be flashed to the ecu before erasing the data.

Yes the original owner MUST flash back thier original tune from the oft to thier car before the oft can be erased.

The new owner cannot do it as the oft will check the vehicle vin number and it wont match so new owner cannot use it .
I wrote th words he is quoting they are from OFT TIPS thread see link below

@Scavanger you need to flash the stock tune back to your car before you sell oft or it useless to new owner

So wait a second, @Scavanger tuned his car with OFT, then sold the OFT to @veck while keeping the tune on his vehicle? Not cool.

Scavanger, do the right thing and take your OFT back and either refund veck or unmarry the device and send it back.

Totally not cool. I couldnt use it or erase his original tune from it because he didnt flash back his original tune to his ecu.

@veck opened a dispute on paypal to get his money back which went through and he still has the oft. So for all you tarts taking his side gets the facts straight, also he didn't want me to unmarry it he just wanted to keep it with getting his money back which he succeeded at doing. Oh and did I mention I told him it was married when I sent it and he said that was fine. So yeah.
