This is a great swap option for the people looking for more power with more reliability! @Speedhead, one thing that still worries me is the stock transmission and the amount of people that have had issues with adding more power. You mentioned there were ways of strengthening it, could you elaborate a bit on this?

On the german board I already started a "wishlist" topic for a potential full gearkit.

Will do so here, as I am sure to get more info (already just because of more users total and sure also more guys from teh "got boost" fraction)

We are taking a deep look on that topic with our specialist gearbox partner, which also supplies us with the 600 Nm + capability rally gearboxes.

Samsonas?

What ecu is this running? Did Michael use a Motec for the build?

There's more power to be had in the D4S injection system than DIT and the DIT has shown it's not as knock resistant as our motor.

But believe what you want.

With regards to engineering, I prefer facts over belief

1)
Never said anything about forged internals.
The forged internals statement was done by another user.

2)
Knock resistance is not only about how much ignition advance you can apply.
The question at which BMEP levels, you can do so.

3) what hp can you get from the UNmodified D4S system?
I guess below 350 hp which is what you can get from the DIT stock system.
So I guess you should revise your statement.
+ I donīt care about the port injection system. can be retrofitted with ease to DIT.
The bigger dimesnioned DI system is what makes the sex.
=> better mixture, higher combustion chamber cooling due to more vaporation enthalpy inside the chamber.

4)
and finally... here the proof re block FA20D against DIT. With a few examples (there is more)
while it might be the same family, itīs not the same block
additionally the gearbox flange is different.

Ok well the M142 is a proper DI ecu so that means you don't need to run the original DI injector controller that comes with the GT86. Also this ecu can run port injection should someone wish to add port injection. Not really sure why they would want to as i've run DI only engines to 860bhp so far.

Gearbox mount different? Ok tell me more

who told you it couldn't be done? This is one of the easier swaps to do given you had the time and resources.....

Anything can be done if you have $$$$. Most people say it shouldn't be done, just because of the R.O.I. For the amount of $$ you spent on the swap, you could have had a higher HP car (if #s is your thing).
