Finally clicked on the ad and I must say it's not as bad as I thought, it certainly looks tacky but it's the kind of car that could hold it's own parked in a row of cars at any non-specific car show. Especially considering it's now 20 years old.
But I must agree with posters above, wouldn't spend any money on this model car at all, does not tickle my pickle, float my boat or get me off. Quote:
Worth noting: I would totally buy a first generation MR2, this Supra is much further down the 'would buy with money' list, but the MR2 is probably top 5 for me right now, probably the only Toyota car I will ever buy for myself from this day forward (maybe a truck, but unlikely). I like boxy cars, they're cheap and they perform marvelously with some blood sweat and tears. |

My wife has banned me from looking at MK1 MR2 ads on Craiglist until we get the kids out of college. I'd probably buy every one I could find.... That ^Supra^ is gorgeous though! I could definitely see me adding it to the stable.

Nah, if he's got a REAL Top Secret kit, it's too expensive for the F&F set Quote:
Didn't come with them from the factory and isn't needed. Plus, they don't have the modern lock down system we have these days to keep the mats in place. Should have been: *spends 200k on car, can't afford a real camera.* Quote:

Who knows what the HP of this car is as he doesn't state that (which is another red flag). Frankly since he's running Kumho SPT's on the damn thing it probably doesn't put the power down and there's a LOT of cut corners. It's pretty clearly about looks and being just that much faster than stock to get some credit. |

No.
Maybe 50 years from now someone will recover this monstrosity from a barn and restore it to it's original glory. |

But what about the 1967-'70 2000GT? Or the 1965-'69 Sports 800? Or the 1970-'74 Celica?

Though some of the others may be cool if I personally was ever looking for a car from those years I would go back to the muscle realm I am afraid. Please don't hate me they were all I knew back then!

I suppose saying no Supra is worth $80k, thus means i hate them.
Interesting logic.

I'll forgive you if you'll forgive me! My only "muscle car" was a '71 Firebird Esprit in root beer brown with a rusted out trunk and slipping automatic transmission. It was actually my first car but it was so awful to drive I sort of just parked it and bought a '77 Celica coupe to drive instead during my last year of high school in '02. I bought three more Celicas after that, two more coupes and a Liftback for parts. I put several thousand $ into my little black '74 GT coupe which was really an incredible car, inside and out. Sadly, early Celica prices seem to have exploded in the last ten years. I think early Fiat Spiders are now the best bang-for-the-buck in small charismatic driving cars, especially with such great support from http://www.international-auto.com

Because a pure drag car is gutted. I've seen $100K+ Supras that have effectively been built from the ground up to on par with modern luxury cars. Lots of hate for Supras out there for some reason...

Don't think there is much hate going on on this thread just ridicule for that particular car and the ad and apathy for Supras in general from a couple of us. In fairness I have never drove one and pretty sure I have never even actually see one in the wild and if I did/had may want one this second.
