Did you share a Dr. Pepper? It would have made a nice date, nicer.

Well the Canada Dry that I grew up on sure had the "real" stuff. But if there is a way to make more profit (by substituting ingredients) you can rest assured that some sneaky business types will find a way. Canada Dry went down hill after Dr. Pepper bought it.
I drink far too much soda. Since being fired I've gain over 25 pounds. Mostly due to taking all my pills with cola and not being able to walk by the frig without stopping to have a mouth full of pop from my latest open bottle.
The wife and I like to drink a 50/50 mix of orange juice and Canada Dry. Coke used to be better than Pepsi until they changed their recipe during the Great Cola Wars.

Coke lost its way in 1980 (and others thereafter) when they switched away from cane sugar to HFCS in my opinion. Fortunately I had stopped drinking regular sodas by then, sticking with Fresca and some Shasta products that were at least tolerable diet sodas. My Mom drank Tab but that was (and still is) just nasty.

I like Dr. Pepper. I love water.

I make my own soda but it's limited to the Kool-Aid flavors. Still, real sugar and less of it.

I mentioned it in this thread when Mrs. Ultra first brought home a box of Bundaberg ginger beer. Yum.

Which maker do you use? SodaStream?

I really miss sarsaparilla... tons of sugar but there was this one brand that was just amazing all the time: Columbia Soda Works.

Sadly don't think they exist anymore. I don't really love regular root beer but the right sarsaparilla just tastes so good.

Yeah. I love my old sodastream stuff. I've figured out how to minimize the flattening as the ingredients are mixed together.
