Talking

Had quite a shock when I took delivery of the Toyota 86.

The full size spare tyre is exposed and protrudes out, making it impossible to even fit 1 normal luggage.

I would like to remove the spare tyre as it is hardly necessary in Singapore, but that would just leave a hole in the middle. Any solutions to this?

Also, anyone changed their logo to USA Scion logo? Would like to know where to get for the front and back.

Euro spec cars get this, instead of a full size spare.

just post a 'want to exchange' request in the classified section. you'll find a lot of scion owners who'd want to swap their scion badges for toyota ones.

use the hole for storing extra stuff, like a small bag with detail spray and a towel etc.

You can remove the spare and buy a trunk mat. Search it up on japanparts.

Hi guys, recently took delivery of my BRZ. Got a few questions to ask (just thinking out loud, not necessarily going to do all these) :

-what can I mod without voiding the warranty? I'm thinking of these few things: rear lights, radio unit/speakers, drop in air filter or full intake system, exhaust.

-any recommended workshop to go for servicing/mods? There's a HKS Garage R quite near me, are they any good? Anybody has any experience with them before?

-is changing headers(w/cat) legal? If yes, which brands?
Just curious, any of you have aftermarket exhausts fitted?

Thanks for any inputs!

Welcome to the club! Always glad to have one more of the twin on our sunny island.

To answer your questions,

- our local dealership isn't really fond of modified parts. They tend to write off the warranty for related parts once it's modified. Luckily, I have not experienced it myself yet.. It's all hear say, so take it with a pinch of salt.

- yes, I would recommend garage r and since its near by I don't see why you shouldn't pay them a visit!

- sadly, there aren't any headers which are approved locally.

Anyway we have an 86/BRZ group locally and would always like more of the twin owners to join us. Do join us in one of our meets if you're interested!
