EcuTek Gurus - questions about RaceRom feature maps

Hi, thanks in advance to help me clear this up and understand how EcuTek RaceRom works.

1. Map 1 has to always be stock?

2. Do i need to ask for a separate map for specific Octane, i.e. 91, 93, and 100 or a 100 Octane tuned file can cover 91 and 93?

3. Are you able to double check each tune map and RaceRom features after the Master Tuner send you the file just to make sure it correctly done?

4. After adding new mods i.e. air filter and exhaust and I send in new data logging data for a new tune file, does that mean all 4 maps will be updated?

Thanks so much again, as this EcuTek is very confusing and cant find clear instructions, felt like its so secretive lol :happy0180:

1. Map 1 can be anything

2. You could setup one map to do all if the IAM is setup to allow this and not be pushed to full advance when on lower octane. Ideally you'd have a map set-up for each - see my questions below.

3. You do datalogging as you drive - this can be done for all maps

4. Yes. If you have multiple different maps then you'd have to log each one and send off the data. Obviously if you have a "high octane" map then you should run the fuel the map is setup for the logging of that setting. You can do as many/few maps as you like.

It seems that most people on here have 1 map with different variations of RR features. I have an eco/95RON map and 2 99RON maps.

I agree. I wanted to know something quite simple and never got an answer so maybe I'll add it here too. For example I have:
Map 1 - A
Map 2 - B
Map 3 - B + RaceRom

Will any trims done on map A be carried over to map B (ie. one set of LT/STFT and knock correction for the whole ECU or per map)? I assume it's per map but I've not had this confirmed. The 2nd question is that are map 2 and 3 the same map, or set up separately so that in theory the trim/knock values will also be separate (relevant to the 1st question)?

Ya, I think thats my case as well that I only have one tune map but allows you to toggle 4 different RR features configurations.

When I data log there is only one tune file available not 4, but i have seen people list as below:

Map 1 - stock
Map 2 - 91 Octane
Map 3 - E85
Map 4 - 100 Octane

And each map has RR features of launch control, auto blip, rev limit @ 7850 rpm, and flat foot shifting enable.

This whole thing is so confusing and the master tuners seem to be not willing to share too much information...

You can log any of the loaded maps.

Just load the map you want to datalog.

Yes any of the 4 Race Rom maps you can have launch control, auto blip, rev limit @ 7850 rpm, and flat foot shifting enable. enabled.

any further questions ask away.

Well it seems that either no-one actually knows or that they don't want to share. I guess the only way to find out is to log some data.

Hi Guys,

This is a great topic to talk about. I will be getting my FR-S tuned by @FullBlown in two weeks. However, I am switching over to E85. I'm not a track racer and I don't drive my FR-S daily. What would you all recommend I do for Maps with a Greddy Turbo Kit and what PSI levels? And should I do two different E85 Maps?

I'm thinking:
Map 1: 91 Octane (7-8psi)
Map 2: E85 (?psi)
Map 3: do I want one?

Thanks guys!

you'll want a map that's just the tune, and a map that has the tune, and all of the nifty race-rom features. I say this because some of the features like throttle blip can be annoying as all piss when daily driving, but very useful while driving aggressively. So I'd think you'll go with:

1. 91
2. 91 W/RR
3. E-85
4. E-85 W/RR
