Recaro heat retrofit.

Does anyone know how difficult it would be to take the heaters out of the OEM BRZ seats and put them into some Recaro Buckets or SP3’s? I assume the wiring harness would stay intact so I figure it should be fairly easy but I wanted to see if anyone did this.

You're going to literally set your own ass on fire if you mess this up.

Lmao. I’m an electrician so I’m not worried about an electrical fire. I’m more so concerned with getting it just right so that it’s not too hot.

I mean, you being an electrician makes you more qualified to tell us how difficult this is, right? Sounds like your the one in the best position to do the leg work for the community.

That make special pliers for them so it’s not too bad.

I would just get an after market electric heater/cooler and put the pad underneath the Recaro fabric above the foam. Then use the new switches or see if they are compatible with the OEM switches.

I’m sure they can make something to fit the recaro.

Probably some insulated coil that puts off a lot of heat. But I’ve never heard of one

Hog rings are the fastners used that hold the seat cover too the seats.

Id start by looking at oem recaros from the wrx ot mr evo x that are already made with heating elements in them. Then, it is just a matter of wiring them up to the oem brz's switches.
