Yep, my MG did drive (back for its day) a lot like my FR-S.

The TRs just had a bit larger tractor engine ......

Happy birthday to your Dad ............

My father drove till he was 94 ...... until he drove away from a filling station one day ...... with the filler nozzle still in the car ..... then my sister "borrowed" his car soon after that ....... and never took it back to him ...

I think I saw an Austin Healey.

I think I saw a Vauxall....

Must be halucinating just like back in high school.

This thread is probably the only place where those cars had much of a chance of being identified.

One of my shop teachers said the British only drank warm beer because their refrigerators were made by Lucas

While on old British cars ....... this one had a engine just like the MGB ..... does it count as a "British sports car".

Yes, I actually bought one of those (new), back in my drinking days, for my (to become ex) wife.

Yep, it rattled like an IH scout and had all the dependability of an MG.

When the rear end started grinding ...... I took it apart and (eeee - gad), buttoned it up and filled it up with axle grease.

Sold it private owner ....... turned the first buyer away because he wanted it for his daughter ....... the second buyer was a FKIA young SA ...... so, he got himself a car .........

OK, old timers (or anyone) what kind of car was that ...... ??

I want an MGB GT. I figure it this way, if it's still running now chances are it will keep on keepin' on because it probably passed the time limit for Lucas problems.

When I was a kid there were a few cars I really wanted - Volvo 1800ES, MGB GT and BMW3.0CS. I still want them... If ya dropped an Opel GT or Saab Scania on me I'd be happy with them too and I probably wouldn't have a problem with a Benz 280SL either.

Scania are trucks, mate :-)

Maybe you're thinking of Saab Sonett? Very rare creatures these days.

Quite humorous to read about the Morris Marina aka Austin Marina...Made by British Leyland. A vehicle I've never before heard about:
