Very interesting info, thank you.

So you think what comes on the 2020 tS are not identical to these?

Correct, they are different as they have different part numbers.

so long story short I’ve been researching for a few months now between STI pinks and RCE yellows for my plain ol 2017 BRZ. I picked up STI Pinks from a 2018 Ts model and sach dampers from a 2019 PP model. This thread is the only one I’ve found on this site with active pics of STI pinks on a non TS BRZ. I’ll be installing it all tomorrow. I’ll post a pic and a review here also.

tS Pink are different from aftermarket ones. They don't lower the car, furthermore they are not compatible with PP dampers, as tS dampers are specific and more stiff...

I wonder as STI pinks (JDM aftermarket ones) are stiffer even than tS pinks, how can they be compatible with the normal BRZ shocks and NOT with the BRZ STI models shocks?

STI pinks:
Front springs rated at 50N/mm, approximately 5kgf/mm (~95% proportional ratio)
Rear Springs rated at 40N/mm, approximately 4kgf/mm (~70% proportional ratio)
Lowers the vehicle approximately -15mm

I figured Ts springs were a little stiffer considering the specs of the Ts dampers. I didn’t think it would matter as there are countless posts of ppl running PP Sachs with swift spec r. Those maybe one of the stiffest springs available. Are the Ts springs stiffer than swift spec rs? Doesn’t make sense to me they wouldn’t be compatible for pp Sachs. I’ve seen the catalog disclaimer and have standard shocks as a fall back if the balance is really bad. Not to doubt your comment just sharing my thoughts on getting these springs. If anything I can always order the RCE yellows I guess. Still plan to see this out once and for all.

Should be an interesting day. Lol

This is what Nengun says, but it's wrong, as not related to BRZ springs, but some other STi springs. The correct rates are not given for STi, and rear are stiffer than fronts.

Installed Ts STI Pinks on sach dampers successful. No fitment issues, initial feel is positive so far. It drives smooth and feels just a hair stiffer than full stocks. Also feels like I have more grip. On my way for alignment now.

Do you know if the spring bias was moved more towards the front for the 2017+ lowering springs? I believe my JDM STi springs are 175f/225r based on quick Norcalpb math. I felt a strong need to get the Mann 13mm rear bar to balance it out and it certainly did the job, but I’d be interested in the newer STi lowering springs if they were closer to even front and rear.

Alright so overall STI Pink off a 2018 Ts fit Performance package dampers off a 2019 BRZ. Height measurements floor to center wheel well before on full 2017 limited stock suspension rear sat at 26.6 inches off the ground and front at 26.3 inches off the ground. After install and realignment. Rear now sits at 26.2 inches and front at 25.9 (on stock 2017 wheels 17x7 - 225/45/17)

Suspension feels slightly stiffer than stock and provides more grip overall. Balance was not lost and still feels like oem handling. I’d say the handling/feel leans more towards a sport setup now than a more 50/50 approach of comfort and sport. Maybe now more Sport 60/comfort 40. I can however feel a rear sway bar may enhance more stiffness in the rear while cornering. Cornering is still sharp and planted just the rear feels a hair softer when cornering (maybe the Sachs) still very confident in the cornering ability and none was lost. Just can feel a rear sway may aid some stiffness for cornering.

Overall I am happy with this setup it’s a very mild move towards a more sporty setup. Doesn’t require any supporting mods like a rear LCA or anything and the stock handling characteristics are still retained. I’m happy with it as a daily driver but won’t rule out in the future of possibly going with RCE yellows.

Pics avail on my Instagram at brzespi for now ill upload some here later when I have more time

Maybe I'm a rebel with my setup. I have an Auto 2017 BRZ, on PP Sachs off a manual with STI Pinks from a Ts. lol - The more seat time I get the more I am loving this setup.

So it sounds like the USDM tS Springs may offer a small amount of lowering.

What's that like 8mm?

Depending on how long those tS Springs were actually installed on the prior car, might get down to 10mm to match the advertised drop of the dealer option STI Springs.

My favorite thing about the STi springs is they are soft enough where your headlights don’t bounce up and down at night. I swear every lowered 86 that I pass/passes me on the highway at night has its headlights bouncing up and down on every little bump they hit.
