Some Questions Regarding the FR-S's White Tachometer for Current and Previous Owners

Does the FR-S's white tachometer, over time, begin to become more appreciative and favored than that of the BRZ's black?

For the individuals who have changed their tachometers to a different color, such as yellow or red, have you found that the change improved the look or worsened it?

Having owned both, I prefer the White.

The white tachometer was already a preference of mine before buying the car, not just over time. The fonts between the two cars are also different.

I grew up around cars that had white tachometers and always loved them over plain black (A32 Nissan Maxima SE and RSX Type-S).

The white one to me seemed more interesting and more detailed than the normal BRZ orange and black.

The first time I drove my FR-S at night, I couldn't believe how badly the tach "strobed" or flashed at me every time somebody's headlights or a street lamp were behind me. Quickly set out to replace the cluster face with a BRZ face. BTW, my side and rear glass is stock tint only.

As far as daytime track use is concerned, the red needle on the white face seems ideal, but the night issue was a gamechanger for me.

Not only the white gauge, but needle is different between 86 & BRZ. Had both (technically had BRZ & now swapped w limited edi Kouki 86 gauge) & it looked the same. Don’t really care much.

I’ve never experienced that, weird. But I have rather dark window tint. Personally I would have installed good window tint instead of switching gauge clusters.

From the beginning I always thought the FR-S gauge cluster looked the best. Not that the BRZ is bad. I love the white tach.

I prefer the FRS tach to the BRZ color combo's. Super easy to read.

The FR-S white tach is still one of my favorite parts of the interior.
