Swapped out OEM clutch slave cylinder with Forester) Impreza unit then adjusted the pedal. Direct bolt on link here.
You can search a manual 2012 range Forester on rock auto and you'll find it. Pedal is a bit heavier and feels less vague through travel. Took the car for a weekend tour, stayed the night and hour out of town then had a FT86 club cruise following morning. 3 hours driving on some of the best rural twisty roads in the area ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by RToyo86; 05-30-2023 at 10:12 AM. |

My car decided it wanted to open exhaust while driving home from cars and coffee this morning. All the sudden I could hear exhaust noise on the highway and thought it was somebody else.. nope!
I'm a Honda boi now Got it on stands to have a look. FP is cracked at a weld area just after the cat. Contacted FT86MS, we shall see what they can do. ![]() ![]() |

Pipes all fixed up, they were able to weld it up for me no issues. Lived with stock FP setup for a week car is quieter and definitely a nice OEM+ setup. Had to reinstall FP, just gives it a little extra.
![]() Also sorting out doing some track/autocross duty this summer. Tossing back on crash bolt and going for 3° camber up front. Want to get signed off for solo driving at bogie but that'll probably need to wait since their program is $500-700 for that service. Will likely be doing shannonville with some other Ottawa twin folks. |

Haven't updated in a while. Lots of small things.
Interior got a seats out deep clean which was very satisfying at the end. Not even a month later car got damaged in a hail storm. Insurance already quoted 5k in PDR work that is being done start of October. Took the car to shannonville motorsports park for open lapping. Had alignment done prior to dial in -3° camber up front. First visit to shannonville which took a full session to get comfortable with layout. I was handily out tired by every person in my run group which all ran semi slicks except for one stock GR86 on the same sized PS4 tire. Swapped out raceng circuit knob for a Flossy griptape. Had some issues with my catback which got sorted, and ended up getting a CSG tune. Car feels ![]() Odometer just rolled over 136,000km this week. Clutch pedal is feeling a bit sticky and some creaky noises from the pedal when pressed/depressed. Planning to drop the trans sometime soon and do a refresh with battle garage TOB. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by RToyo86; 09-24-2023 at 09:55 PM. |

When I installed my Recaros, my vacuum cleaner was broken so I could see all the dirt and crap but not clean it. Driving me crazy and I need to do it all over again before I lose my mind. And I tend to keep my interior pretty clean (even with a dog passenger) but so much just gets through.
Bummer about the hail. ![]() - Andrew |

Interior cleaning is my least favorite but also satisfying once done. The dirt that accumulates on the carpet between the seat and the door drive me nuts lol.
Hail damage was a blessing in some ways. I had a bunch of small ones all over from acorns hitting the same areas while at the cottage. The car will end up being cleaner than it was prior. Silver lining I suppose! Last edited by RToyo86; 09-26-2023 at 09:22 PM. |

Organized a fall cruise for local club. Great turnout for early-mid October cold rainy day. Started out dry and cold then started raining around the C marker on the route . Shortly after it started raining a buddy in his S2000 lost the back end cornering while cresting over a hill. Everyone was relieved that the only damage to the car was a bent axle back and a few scuffs on the bumper. He hit me up couple days later to do a quick buff and touch up on the rear bumper and lower fender. touch up.

![]() Pulled trans today. New exedy OEM clutch+flywheel, battle garage TOB, verus fork+pivot, and front bearing cover. Random 2 weeks in February with temps well above freezing which got the detailing juices flowing again. My side hustle doing paint corrections and ceramic coatings is starting to gain traction. Business is now registered, website, socials. I feel very fortunate I was able to get certified to sell new line of coatings from Yvan Lacroix under C6 ceramic. Those in the detailing world may recognize the name as he worked with optimum for many years and with other brands.
C6 is pretty exciting stuff since it is branded as a permanent coating much like optimum opti-coat. Technology is similar in a few ways but also incorporates detonated Nanodiamonds which is part of newest breed of coatings that is starting to pop up in the market. Just ordered some kits and will be installing one of the two offerings on the 86 as demo for clients. I'm also playing with Carpro Dquartz go which is another Nanodiamond coating which carpro claims will add some actual scratch resistance from typical wash induced love marks. ![]() |

Ah! A fellow detailer! You might be a great person to talk to as I am starting to gather materials to kick off my detailing season next month. Trying to find a soap, cleaner, quick wax that would be the best bang-for buck without compromising quality. Biggest thing for me is a soap that can foam and lift dirt without being too abrasive and remove wax/sealant layers. |

I've been playing a lot with DIY detail lineup it's Yvans own consumer detail lineup . You may like incredible suds for its foam, lubricity and cleaning abilities. APC DIY all clean in a gallon is to be dilluted 15:1 exterior , 30:1 interior. Comparable good APC is carpro multi-x which dullutes even further but costs a bit more up front. For protection I don't use spray waxes anymore, my go to right now for non coated cars is DIY ceramic gloss and DIY quick beads. Best value is in gallon format but I'd get a 16oz bottle first if you want to try it. Ceramic gloss only needs 1-2 sprays per panel and helps the towel absorb water. Adds nice gloss and good water behavior. Quick beads is a spray on rinse off formula, good for wheels and if car has zero protection on paint and want to add something before attempting to dry. DIY often have sales on their products, I grabbed a bunch of gallons during last sale. https://youtube.com/shorts/BvEJ_4RPA...p4PUsXOABbJEd0 Last edited by RToyo86; 02-21-2024 at 09:30 AM. |
