This was on Dynojet.

We also had a tuned FRS with over pipe, drop in filter and ARP cat back. He put down 180 who and 148tq. Another tuned FRS with just a Perrin cat back only made 173 whip and 144 tq, though they said they still had some work to do on his tune.

My baseline on a dynojet on a cold fall night was around 172-175 cold to hot. It appears we dont have a baseline for the above car so while that dyno is informative it's also useless.

Tragic seeing as this intake is probably a 5 minute swap between the stock box.

I don't have a Perrin catback! I just have the Perrin tips. I am completely stock except for the tune and a aEf dry drop in filter. And its a BRZ, but it's all good bro!

I am not sure about that.

I got a aEf dry filter drop in, and a 93 octane ecutek tune and all i got was 174hp and 142 ft lbs torque. Sure dynotronics has not dialed in the car completely yet, so its going to go up, but if this FR-S with the TRD intake and exhaust got close to 179 HP completely on a stock tune. That is awesome!

Quick question about this intake. Is the air filter washable and reusable?

Thx

i would guess its whatever tire shine you are using rather than tar since you said it has happend on other cars you have driven spiritedly

TRD intake review WITH DYNO RESULTS.

So I finally got the FR-S on the Dyno.

This was my procedure.

-Unhook neg terminal
-Wait 5 minutes or so
-Hook neg cable back up, run car for 5-10 minutes.
-Do 3 dyno runs.

-Unhook neg terminal
-Install TRD intake
-Hook neg cable back up, run for 5-10 minutes
-Do 3 more runs

This way I believe to be the best, as it makes it so I am comparing apples to apples. My car has around 3500km on it, and it has the TRD exhaust as well.

First 3 runs are as follows:
1. 162.9hp - 133.52tq
2. 166.05hp - 136.51tq
3. 167.95hp - 136.73tq

After the TRD intake was installed (within an hour, so similar temp etc)
1. 174.39hp - 143.59tq
2. 175.6hp - 144.2tq
3. 170.02hp - 141.16tq - Something was up on this last run as I felt the car shift a bit on the dyno. I was satisfied with the figures so we just took it off.

Shitty pic of the graph, but as you can (kind of) see, it was a pretty even increase throughout the rev range with a decent peak at 4500.

(Will be posting pic, vid of gauges shortly)

The Red box is around the runs done with the TRD intake.

I see he his banned, but in closing I'd like to send out a big GFY to FR-S Matt!
