Tuning HELP

Tuner NOOB. Any help / thoughts appreciated!!

Bough my FRS with delicious stage 2 tune loaded. Seller removed UEL header and put OEM headers back on (did not flash ecu back to OEM) for sale. I called delicious and they said I shouldn't run it this way too long. Not 100% clear what could happen though.

My near term goals for this car are an EL header and E85 flex kit; therefore I will need stage 2 E85 tune eventually.

I'm leaning towards OFT as it seems really simple to use. Also seems cost effective. I can load stg 1 tune while waiting to get my header and flex fuel kit situated.

My understanding is when marrying the OFT to car for the first time you take a copy of the current ECU as a back up so that you can "flash back to stock" at any time.

I'm currently running stg2 to so it would copy that correct? I'll technically not have an OEM tune to flash back to.

Any significant benefit of OFT V2 vs V1? I know build quality was upgraded and larger screen but any software / performance increases that translate to better car performance?

Also is there a chance my ECU would be locked?

THANKS

It'll be encrypted and you won't pull anything.

I see.. Will this be a problem? I'd guess I'd just have nothing to flash back to?

Ecutek tune will lock your ecu. May be cheaper just to buy a used header

Damn.... I really want to go e85.

So I would not be able to just plug and play with OFT since ECU is locked? I don't really know if EcuTek was used or not.. but it was a stage 2 delicious tune.

CAn a dealer flash it back to stock? Or would I have to get some kind of unlocking service?

EDIT: just found out from seller it was indeed EcuTek

If your 100% its got an ecutek tune

Then if you want to reflash your going to need an ecutek cable kit about $300 new maybe 150-200 used. You will aready have ecutek licience in ecu

Ecutek system comes with all the stock roms to reflash.

However tgere is no read facility in ecutek so your current tune will be lost if you flash over it.

Cheapest option if you know it was tuned for header would be just buy header
