I just want to datalog

I bought a Tactrix Openport 2.0 about 2 weeks ago to fix a p0018 CEL. I flashed my original rom but the light came back. So then I flashed an OFT OTS Stage 1 tune and that fixed the CEL.

Now I would like to datalog and view tunes, etc but Romraider doesn’t work for the BRZ. I tried stand-alone logging with the Tactrix but I don’t think I set it up correctly.

So last week I bought the $349 Ecutek kit in the hopes of using that to datalog since there’s no text file to setup or anything. But I know you also have to pay $300 just for a single ECU license, plus another $300+ to upgrade Racerom.

That being said I have 2 questions:
1. Is there anything I can use Ecutek for without the license, or did I essentially buy a car with no keys?

2. Can I datalog with Ecutek without flashing my OEM rom back to my ECU? I’m concerned the CEL will return if I do, and I won’t be able to flash the stage 1 tune back until I pay for a license.

Where you using the right def's with Romraider? That is what a lot of us with OFT or Tactrix use.

Sorry I’m an idiot and worded this incorrectly. I initially used ecuflash to load the OFT tune. I meant to say that logging via Romraider isn’t possible with the BRZ, i had to use the Tactrix/sd card method.
I basically want to know if I can datalog with Ecutek without having to first overwrite my OFT rom with the OEM rom.

Might be because you used the OFT tune and that messes with the definitions you need. This seems like the same problem you are having?
