At least one post on their forums of a guy paying $10K above MSRP. $45k+ for a Civic is a tough ask, but if that's what you want then go get it. Not doing anything to correct the actions of some of these dealerships though.

As someone who used to sell Subaru's, we never ever raised the prices on cars. Not even the launch Edition Sti, hyper blues, etc. Granted everyone bought them before they arrived...but still

My GT350 has been out for two years and the non R models are still going for over MSRP, the one near me has sticker over $20k. I won't be surprised if the Honda's will stay over sticker for a year or two. There will be some dealers selling at sticker, look for the low volume dealers that aren't as large or owned by multiple operation. Small dealers are typically the best to work with anyways...

Being in a major population area with high prices and fat incomes doesn't help either.

Head out to the boonies if you want a deal and take the scenic route back. There were a lot of people from California buying BRZs in Colorado because it was cheaper to buy there from the biggest Subaru dealer in the country (iirc they were selling below sticker, but not invoice) and ship/drive it back than buying local.

Uh... you do realize that the Civic for the last ~20 years or so has always had a FWD Type-R, right? I mean, it's a Civic...

If you want a RWD Type-R, go find a NSX-R.

I mean, I don't like that it's FWD either, but it's still fucking fast for what it is.

Strangely, ever since the public debt trajectory in Japan has gone up, the looks of some cars aren't as attractive. I might be wrong but I suspect Softbank and the rest of them might be able to explain there way out of it.

I took at look at a salvaged Shelby GT350 with about a 1000km on it for only maybe 20k more than the Type R a couple weeks ago. The report only claimed fender and bumper damage. Upon my personal inspection on a garage lift, it had all the original parts still. The Recaro seats looked like it had been knifed through where the air bag is. It appears to be at least a few thousand just to replace those seats. Strangely enough the accident occurred in a town with a major tent city. What a waste.

The rain and snow down in the southern hemisphere must be backwards compare to here in the north.
