Bigger boot space

Hi there,

For the past 6 months I have been driving my car without the trim inside the boot and got used to the size (volume), when finally brought my car back and put together I didn't like the side or the trunk with the cover, therefore I decided to modify it a bit. I haven't finished yet but for an hour job I'm quite pleased.

Unsure of when and how I will finish it.

Couldn't find anyone who have done this already. Enjoy 😊

Neat idea .. but imho half-done. If you gave up on having flat floor, i'd think of getting rid of foam bits alltogether, just trim to protect paint with something carpetish directly on metal. That would net even more boot volume.
BTW, did road noise in cabin change after mod?

what sub box is that? are you running them active/passive to deal with the small internal volume?

I still need to put some carpet and make it look better, the reason why I chose doing like this is that I kept the right angles (flat surfaces), if I had made on top of the metal all the bulges and structures would make it look weird and not as functional.

Now I can put some bags, groceries and it will quite stay in place.

This car is SC, therefore any noise difference I could not spot, however I removed a very small amount of material and considering I have put some sound deadening underneath.
I`m happy with the noise keeping the foam like this instead of completely removing.

Hi, the car came with this sub, It was shaped using some Al foil right on the corner and build with fibre glass. I`m uncertain of the volume but it does the job, it is a passive one.

Update.

Almost completed, just want to fix some tie down rings for a little cargo net and some carpet clips or Velcro to keep everything nice and tidy.

If you put a Darth Vader liner on the bottom it'll be perfect. Looks neat, very nice job.
