Little back story.I was in The Netherlands this past August. At the hotel we were staying at I had a chicken sandwich and it had this spread that I can only describe as redish-orange,with a tomato and mild red pepper flavor. The consistency was similar to cottage cheese, but with very small curds.

Anyway, tasted amazing and wanted to see if I could find the same thing here at home.
Would you describe it more like a tapenade, chimichurri, chutney, peperonata, or romesco?

It's called Muhammara!

Thank you so much! I just searched "similar to romesco" as that was the closets looking dish to what I was trying to find.

Thanks, does that mean you will procure a bottle of HP?

Interesting, I will need to do a taste test. Never had both in one sitting, it's either red or brown, never one after the other..

Someone said something about A-1 sauce. I can understand the comparison but no, HP sauce is unique in both flavor and texture. It's quite tasty. I'll enjoy experimenting with it.

I didn't see instructions to refrigerate after opening. How does it hold up on the shelf?

Man, people in the GRC community seem to lack a lot of brain cells.

I miss Tcoat's snarky responses to people about industry related discussions around our cars.

I'm glad you like it, it is unique, has depth and history. Our openned bottle lives in our kitchen cupboard, no fridge for the brown sauce..
