Check Engine Burned Into ECU?

I know that some cars will through a code that can not be cleared with anything but the tech unit at the dealership. (ask me how i know). I even got the dreaded count down until engine stop.
I had problems that the dealer had to fix as it was part of the emissions. Check to see if their messing with the emissions codes will still make them responsible.
Call national number for manufacturer information.

Yep. The SS was a fun car at the time, but the cam gear had plastic teeth on aluminium body that shredded every 40k miles or so (I replaced it twice), water pumps had half lives measured in months, as did control arm bushings, it was incredibly heavy, and the 350 horse 396ci engine was probably good for 275 - 300 most of the time. However, it didn't leak oil, just drank gas by the supertanker full. Looking down the carb throats and blipping the throttle looked like a toilet flushing. I sold it during the 73 oil crisis.

I much prefer my BRZ for all the reasons you mention and more.

But still, that's blasting a mouse with a blunderbuss. Honestly I would assume the issue to be in the evap pump module, it's a little black box clipped to the vent filter BESIDES the charcoal canister... they're probably trying to nuke the problem from orbit with an all new EVAP system.

So kind of ridiculous.

Further, I presume that price is the overall bill, I just remembered the canister pump module is above the rear subframe lol, so they're probably laying on a bit of time for a rear subframe R&R

Unfortunately the charcoal canister is not part of the powertrain....so I haven't had the work done yet. ~$2500 is a bit tough to swallow

Oh crap, that extended warranty is just powertrain? Fuuuuuuuu

Get that car to an independant shop asap.

In case anyone was still following this thread, it was not actually an ECU or even charcoal canister issue.

It was an loose wire issue, that they ended up covering for me under the warranty so the car now runs great!
