Depends on the state/town/etc. Ask Nancy Pelosi about it, she knows all the rules...

Ours are back up but have some very strict rules to follow. Government hired a pile more labour inspectors to make sure they do follow those rules.

Ours have been for a months. Limited occupancy, temp check on entry, fill out contact info sheet. Disposable bib, masks required through the whole thing.

Around here technically no unless you're a politician named Pelosi.

I'm desperately due for a haircut and I've heard of some people still cutting hair on the down low. Might need to find a friend who's friends with one of those for the hookup.

My Fiancée does mine... #2 all the way around. (Been doing it since before COVID just because it's cheap and easy no appointment necessary, lol)

Yeah I've had a relative do somewhat of a #2 or #3 all the way around with a really old shaver 2 or 3 times since COVID. In a pinch it works ok, but it's now been a bit over 2 months again since the last one and I'd kind of like to get a cleaner 1-2 fade like I'd normally get .

The problem with all the local "street" barbers here is that pre-COVID a pretty simple buzz cut was still like $30-40 and now I'm hearing the down low guys still cutting are charging more like $60.

Like fine, I understand that maybe a fade requires a little more skill but $60??

Damn, I pay 20 bucks and my barber is pretty legit. Learned to cut hair in prison and everything.

Yeah... When I was living in the dorms in college almost 10 years ago, one of the guys on my floor would do legit cuts in the bathroom for either free or $5. His were really clean too. Of course he got in trouble later on though because the school didn't want liability if he cut someone lol.

$20+tip is what I feel comfortable paying for the kind of cut I prefer. But maybe it's the "Silicon Valley" pricing. I dunno.

Every business is always about managing risk/reward/licensing/insurance such a PITA. It's the only way to escape the rat race but there's nothing like someone just handing you a salary while you just fly the plane (or cut hair) or whatever.

He won’t let me tip him anymore. I’ve gotten to know him pretty well, he used to be a semi pro boxer.

They have a limiting opening. You have to have an appointment and wait in your car till the hairdresser calls for you to come into the shop. One customer at a time.
