Rear seat delete?
I did a search and didn't find anything....but I've found this:
http://www.rearseatdelete.com/FRS-BRZ.html Anyone have any experience with this? I know there is a full carbon one but it is insanely expensive. This one is not bad at all. about 25lbs weight savings....that coupled with smaller battery, better brakes, exhaust upgrades, etc could add to over 100lbs of weight savings. Worth it? Does anyone have this? How much noisy is the cabin? The package comes with sound deadening material.....hmmmmm I mean, lets admit it. Unless you have kids the rear seat is like 87.9% useless |

For that much money you would think that they could have found a cleaner way to fill the bolt hold for the lower cushion. A square of mismatched carpet and a black plug?!
The seats provide a significant amount of noise protection from the floor. I would imagine road noise goes up quite a bit. |

I normally don't fabricate my own stuff, but for $400 shipped, I really think it'd just be easier and more cost-effective to just DIY.

sorta on the pricey side, but then again, for the work required to make that out of ABS plastic, i would charge $400 if i was gonna resell it too. lol
pretty cool tho, imo. i might consider this as our rear seat is completely useless other than for looking like a seat. i like the little secret, but not really secret, area created by using this.

I made my own with some wood materials and subwoofer fabric around the house.
Roughly cost freefitty. The design of the rear of this car makes it very easy to make. |

I have that rear seat delete. It's pretty nice. There is quite a bit of foam built into the rear panel and the seat panels. They are well made and very clean looking. You can't really see the bolt that someone was complaining about.

How is the noise level in the cabin? Comparable to when the seat was there?

Not quite but close. There is a huge difference in sound with the little divider up and down. I didn't take any db readings before and after so it's hard to quantify the difference but subjectively, it's the difference between being able to have a conversation at 80mph comfortably and having to yell. I have a jdl uel header, catted nameless op/fp and perrin resonated exhaust.

Wouldn't most of the weight be in the restraint system anyway? If you aren't going to use the back seat for people anyway, it would be free to just remove those from the rear. |

I imagine if you lined the floor under the back seats and the spare tire well with Dynamat it would make a huge difference. That stuff is amazing. It's pretty expensive but it has a big impact on the comfort/noise level in the cabin...
