Ford says its trying to shoot under 30,000GBP so probably around 41,000 ~ 44,000USD is my guess.

Ughhhh...... you know dealer mark up and the rarity of that thing is going to start pushing it closer to 50k

..... Which is still a fuckton for what is essentially an econobox on steroids, meth & acid (as much as I adore and love the damn thing ) I couldn't justify paying that for it

The amount of negative Nancys and impractical thinking in this thread is astounding.

Just wow...

It's difficult to gauge a price really. I hope the car won't be marked up too much if at all and near the 30k mark rather than 40k. If it is, I would seriously consider it.

I really do not see this thing costing more than $40k starting.

Actually I am amazed at how positive the comments have been overall! Bet if you head over to the Ford forum and throw a twin on there the results would be even worse then the opposite here!

£30k in UK on the raod will be a US sticker price of around $35k

We always quote "on the road, or OTR" which includes all charges/taxes.... Sales TAX is 20% here......

Sure we can. As long as we pay all the taxes, duties, inspection fees and so on. Would bring the price way above ours anyway so not worth it. They protect the car industry here by charging so much!

Aside from what Tcoat already said, several manufacturers will also not warranty the car. It's a whole thing.

About the price, check out loaded Evo's and STi's i think that'll give you an idea. I thin just under 40k. There's really no use in discussing price until it hits us but this thing sure looks nice.

I see the US base model being under $36,595 which is the Golf R's price, and I won't be worried about limited production since Ford said it's a global car.

I am going to say a base RS will start around $34K. Just below a base STI. Loaded, I am guessing closer to $40K and this is before tax, dealer fees, etc.
