Basic Mods

What are some simple/cheap mods that I can get done to improve my car performance without hurting gas mileage?

I upgraded my tires from the stock, and got a k&n air filter. I was thinking of getting a lightweight pulley next but would like to know what other options there are.

Bracing ie a strut brace for example. Lighter components like an aluminum drive shaft. Lighter wheels (there are inexpensive sets out there like RPF1's). Lowering springs. Cat back exhaust.

Work out a budget, what you want to achieve / change, hunt down the best price for what you want and be prepared to fit it yourself. Consider second hand as another avenue to trim cost.

At the end of the day you still have to pay to play, but if you're screwed with spending, willing to do the research and have patience you can still end up with some pretty solid way's to improve your car. If budget is tight I'd resist anything bling related and just focus on proven performance mods.

The most bang for the buck mang would be to start out with a short throw dipstick.

He has been driving the car longer than most of us.
Also not his first kick at the "What mods?" can.

Pulleys are largely useless, catback makes little to no power, and the only real "free" mod on the car is drop-in filter.

I vote for driver mods. If you want something for looks or handling that is all subjective and largely budget influenced.
