Just started watching wangan midnight

I just started watching and I suddenly had a thought. The author must've been able to tell the future.
Initial D = 86
Wangan midnight= Z

If you like drifting and touge, go for twins
If you like to drive fast on freeway, go for the Z

Japanese cars that is.

Weird thought I had but describes the modern day Japanese cars too.

If you like drifting and touge buy an 86.

If you like going fast on the freeway don't buy a Z.

Buy an R35 GTR.

Or if you can't afford that buy a MKIV Supra and replace the turbo with a big single mother. Then just point and fire your land missile.

Yes I left out the GTR because it's not affordable to most(including myself)

But for a modern gen Japanese car, the Z comes close to one of the fastest(excluding super car)

car anime series... Initial D somehow tells the future that for today if you care about handling you will buy an 86.
Wangan Midnight somehow tells the future that if you care about highway running you will buy a Z.

Of course they are about the AE86 and 280ZX respectively...not the modern ones...

Wangan isn't a 280Z

It's an S30 Fairlady (240z)

1969-1978 S30 = 240z, 260z, or 280Z, depending on year, correct? All same chassis, just different motors.

And if the car has a L28 motor in it, well it's a 280Z...

No. That was a second year 240 to early 260 - thin bumper, cabin exhaust up high.

Dropping an L28 into it would make it a 240Z/260Z with an L28 swap.
