Blind spots
I really like the car, but rear visibility isn't great, IMO. It's worse for me because my neck has been fused and I can't turn my head as far as most people. I have the parabolic extra mirrors outside, and I'm trying to put a much larger one on the windshield mount. It's so heavy, though, that the original mirror it attaches to sags. I'll have to find a way to tighten it up. I'm also going to add a backup camera but that won't help any when the car is moving. Does anyone else have a problem with blind spots?

There is a slightly wide angle that has a spring loaded clip available from Walmart and many auto stores that is relatively light and give a good look back. Only down side, things appear further back than they are.
Race shops have a full width version but require drilling to mount or to a roll cage to keep them from vibrating. |

with the mirrors out further, you shouldnt really have blindspots. you can also just turn them in when youre parallel parking so you dont fuck up your wheels too.

I had problems with blind spots until I got the rexspeed mirrors. They give me full confidence when changing lanes at all times.
I had the parabolic mirrors too but they actually confused me at times lol. Plus I love the polarized look of the rexspeed, it cuts glare at night. |

I had the Rexpeed mirrors on my previous FR-S for a couple of years. No problems with bubbling or quality. Definitely helped with the blind spot, at the expense of having objects in the mirror looking further away.

I've used the mirror adjustment method for the last ... Almost 10 years at this point (I'm ooooold... ). It works great in 95% of situations if you get used to it. You can almost use the mirrors exclusively for lane changes.
If someone else drives your car though, you are going to have to readjust the mirrors. My fiance almost crashed into someone else on the highway because she couldn't adjust to the car in the mirror is next to you, rather than behind you. You also have to be careful of overconfidence. It usually leaves a region just big enough to fit a small car/motorcycle outside of your peripheral vision looking forward that the mirrors don't catch. A bit of turning to look is involved in dense traffic but the mirrors do most of the work for you. |

my wife still will not swing the mirrors out enough to see what is beside her. About 40% of what she sees in the mirror is just the side of the car. At least her new car yells at her if there is somebody in the blind spot.
