2 HOURS LATER my oil change was done and they ordered parts and I have to go back later this week to get the pump swapped.

They said it would take all day but they'd give me a car in the meantime.

Got my car back from the dealer yesterday, no chirps so far.

They gave me a rental Chrysler 200. Dear god that's the worst car I've ever driven and believe me I've driven some shit boxes. I can't believe something like that flies in 2013.

In the FAQ section:

Is Shell V-Power premium gasoline safe for all vehicles?
  • Shell V-Power is effective in all gasoline-powered engines found in conventional, modern and hybrid vehicles as well as motorcycles, snowmobiles, and leisure marine vehicles.
  • Tested in today’s advanced turbo-charged and direct injection engines, Shell V-Power helps resist thermal breakdown at high temperatures, actively protecting against gunk under tough engine conditions.
  • Shell V-Power premium gasoline in Canada does not contain ethanol.

Lool! I think if your car is running fine you don't really have to switch over @.@.. I only switched because I saw people say it helped and it did.

Heading to the dealership Friday for the fix. I hope.

I use Ultra94 from Petro, don't want to switch to Shell, I enjoy the $0.10 discount I get at Petro.

Came back from a trip from Toronto to Niagara On The Lake, about 2300 km on it and the thing was chirping when we got home. The last fill was with Shell 91 at Major Mac/Jane area if I recall, never had an issue with the gas from the Shell 91 at Major Mac/404. Need to fill up so will have to see if the gas at the usual place I get helps or not. I doubt replacing the HPFP will result in a chirp-free pump unless it's a newer revision that what's in this car.

Last of the North American "engineered" Chryslers. All the rest are Mercedes Benz or FIAT Group designs and drive fine. The new Dodge Dart is a revelation from a driving perspective. Interior is still a hopeless ergonomic mess, designed by Chrysler USA. The mechanicals are basically designed in Italy. The US engineers even managed to make the Alfa Romeo Giulietta into an ugly car to turn it into the Dart. That takes talent!

My BRZ hasn't chirped yet. Using 94 Octane fuel seems a good idea as the engine is rated to use 93 at sea level. At my elevation 91 is all it can use.

Yeah the chirping only at idle, and it is annoying. Reading the TSB on it, the VIN on mine *should* have the latest pump which has been modified to ensure that the plunger stopper is in the right orientation but guess it wasn't enough of a 'countermeasure'.

I'll just live with it and bring it up when I schedule the first oil change.

Have you tried switching to shell to see if it clears it up in a couple tanks? Worth a shot
