Interesting, because I've never experienced that effect. I've always had good results from it, to the point where if I apply it, it has to be really raining for me to need to use my wipers.

It has had many mixed reviews over the years. I am at a total loss as to why some have no issues and others nothing but a pain in the ass.

I use rain-x on all my cars for the same reason, I almost never need ot use my wipers and when raining lightly, my vision remains unobscured. The one thing I don't like about it is that it hazes when you do use the wipers

That may be the difference. I rarely get light rain. Even when it is light I am usually on the highway and the spray from trucks make the wipers a necessity. Which results in streaking and impaired visibility almost every time.

I think some of it has to do with the temperature inside vs. outside the cabin. I have found that if I drive with the windows up it hazes. I know I'm going to get crap for that statement but I almost always drive with the windows down. In fact my car is always parked with the windows down too. They are down right now.

Thanks, I have that on order though I was very reluctant to purchase a product from the same crowd who caused the issue in the first place but I'm now willing to try just about anything. Maybe I should get a belt sander. I've also ordered some cleaning vinegar which I didn't know existed until this thread but I''m not going to post that in the TIL thread.

It works quite well on the fresh windshield on the lava, perhaps part of the issue is a super pitted windshield? Just spit balling... didn't notice any bad streaking on the old one other than the corners and right by a rock chip.

While on the topic of water removal, just ordered replacement windshield wipers
