the Lexus LC + Acura NSX as well, but these six figures dollar cars. again, the Z is a $30k-$40k car. i think people are expecting a little too much for price tag.

And the list goes on. Idk how we're in 2020 and people still allow themselves to have such a Pikachu face when the final production version doesn't look exactly like the original concept design on these new cars.
Not sure why people even remotely believe clickbait renders anyway since 99.99% of them are made by some 16 year old and have zero input from reality.

Just like some (a lot?) of people seemed to be expecting too much of the BRZ/86 priced in the $20k's, with all the carping about 'not enough power'.

WOW That basic outline and headlight is bang on! It is an amazing feat to pull that off.

but wasn't that how they design the car to be? maybe a better area would be the interior. a lot of people have complained about it being awful. but again, its a mid $20k car, so you get what you pay. however, its nowhere as bad of a quality as the FD RX7 :p

as i have said; i don't act like the clickbait source in question was correct from the start. they are actually usually way off during the early stage as shown below. however, closer towards launch time things start to shape up. imo the teaser and render matches up pretty nicely. also some people have brighten up the teaser and there really isn't much left to the imagination. the only thing i would question is how far the grille extends (width), but base on the teaser and given Z's past price point i think the latest orange render is pretty close to what we can expect.

Why are people reposting that stupid Mazda meme? The photo above was never a "concept" for some CUV. It was a concept to show their forward direction for all Mazdas' styling. Which is implemented on the CX-5 that replaced the one in that photo.

Because it’s the internet and people post outlandish memes in an attempt to make a point which isn’t even done by their post, nor is it relevant, then try to claim intellectual superiority.

Not surprising at all, it looks like the 400Z is being delayed until 2023:

https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/nissan...ssan-400z-name

Given Nissan's dire financial straits, and the slow-moving burgeoning global recession, I wouldn't be surprised if it's cancelled outright. As many of us have said, as much as it would be fantastic to see the Z continue (and just to keep another sports car on the market), a small-volume niche car is not what Nissan needs right now.

But on the other hand, maybe a 'hail Mary' kind of play with a sexy, powerful, reasonably priced sports car with a manual transmission might attract some attention to a company many people are giving up for dead?

But on yet another hand, Nissan might be too far gone to save at all anymore. In the past few years the company was torn apart by political infighting, with the Japanese executives undermining and fighting Carlos Ghosn to keep him from merging the company with Renault. Ironically, that might have been the last, best, and only chance Nissan had for survival. As information about what happened to Ghosn continues to come out, it increasingly looks exactly like the frame-up whack job Ghosn said it was:

Sic transit gloria Datsun.

If Nissan can’t downsize fast enough then maybe they will not survive, but they are clearly selling plenty of cars to be capable of being a profitable company.
